He's a right back with about 120 games at the level. Good age. Experienced relegation and promotion. Seems - based on just a five minute interview, admittedly - a switched on bloke and in the current climate for BFC financially, it looks a sensible fix to a problem area in the short-term. Attached a bar chart (I know, what a nerd) that gives you some idea of his strengths/weaknesses, in direct comparison with O'Keeffe, Cotter and Lofthouse. Had to use the 23/24 season as that was when all of them played quite regular at the same time.
But he’s not Okeeffe, or Cotter. He’s a totally different person. I haven’t a clue how good he is - in fact I had to google him. …… but let’s give him chance
Good luck to the lad. Let’s be honest we are totally skint and so will not be signing Roberto Carlos. it sounds like we are doing a lot of defensive work as a unit on the training ground with Keogh and so if he’s a hard working lad with a good attitude, who can take instructions onboard, he will do for me.
Believe it or not. Some wing backs are better on the defending aspect of the game than going forward. Cotter or O'keefe I believe going forward Is their strongest aspect. Especially Cotter. Be interesting how he figures in Notts county's line up.
These figures are a poor reflection of most players values. If looking online. Eg Transfermarket. DKD £1m John Russell £740k Luca Connell £700k Jordan thomas £110k. Release clause £250k apparantly. Shows that lad you mention at €100k so circa £90k. Not sure how long he's contracted to. Not disclosed.
I can’t believe the negativity on here sometimes. I don’t know if he’s any good or not but for gods sake let’s give him a chance before writing him off. I didn’t like what I saw of Sir Bobby first time I saw him and now you wouldn’t believe what I’d let him do to my wife! Anyway - welcome lad and all the luck in the world.
pointless. Add George Williams, Trent Alexander-Arnold and colour the bars in red white and blue and then it might be worth reading. ;-)
Unsurprising really that it's the same dozen or so bed wetters wetting the bed again. I can see it now, a dozen or so different "well I'm eating humble pie tonight" threads again tomorrow after he has a solid debut.
I aren't usually wrong about these things and TAA is better going forward than going back. Which isn't a great attribute for a right back.
Never heard of him, disgraceful, tinpot taarn, shame on M'lad. Without googling the player though, does anybody know about him. If he's played with Charlton, then he's used to Lg One level.
It was a ridiculous comment though, of course fans aren't expecting that sort of player. Some other Intl Prem player would have done.
