Liverpool fans sing a song about Mac Allister - always makes me smile cos I pretend it is to me (McAllister)

Maradona was good, when he was off his head,
    And Messi was alright
    Til a Tuesday night
    When he played the Reds
    But Mac Allister
    Oh Mac Allister
    He's the best there's been
    From the Argentine
    Oh Mac Allister

So it got me thinking we don't have many player-related songs (we don't really have many songs full stop, which is sad cos we used to have a right matchday choir back in the day) so I thought I would plagiarise the above in honour of one of the greatest footballers to ever grace Oakwell :) I think you should all have a go. Get us in the mood, bit of silliness on the eve of the first home match.

Thierry was ok, when he played in Red
    And Zidane was alright,
    Til that Sunday night,
    When he used his head
    But De Gevigny,
    Oh De Gevigny
    He's the best theres been
    From the Republique
    Oh De Gevigny

(I wrote that on caffeine, not ale)

I’ve said this a few times, but change the lyrics of the Killers song “Smile Like You Mean It” to Maël de Gevigney and you’re sorted.
