They might have a portion of dickish fans but so does everyone Most of their fans are decent people, like they are at all clubs (except Millwall) The idea of their football club going out of business is just awful.
I don’t want to see them fold, every day seems more likely it’s a proper shitshow but I am enjoying seeing their misery.
Its bad for football when any club has financial troubles. It took Leeds along time to stabilise after they were relegated from the Premier League and Elland Road like Hillsborough has seen better days. No guidance or leadership from Football authorities in this situation .We share lots of common history with the Owls hope they come again .
We shared a lot of common history with Bradford PA - it means nowt. Viva Chansiri. Bring on Bannan Boulevard, Hirst Avenue, DiCanio Drive etc.
Fuckity fuck them with knobs on. Hope they have to reform in the NCEL as FC Wednesday of Sheffield est 2025.
I used to volunteer with St John Ambulance in Sheffield back then. Usually at Hillsborough, as they played at home different weekends to us. With a few minutes to go one game, it was 0-0 against Man United. I remember seeing Robin run round the side of the pitch, in front of the Kop and then crouching down behind the advertising hoardings opposite the dugout, passing instructions to David Hirst. In the 90th minute Hirst scored a fantastic goal to win the game. After the final whistle blew Robin ran on to the pitch and lifted Hirst up. Whatever he had said to him certainly did the trick.
Nar, **** em, they're still talking about 120+3, thick gets, they should have bigger things to worry about https://www.owlstalk.co.uk/forums/topic/340742-dingles/#comments
It did it with me once - he was in goal and I had the ball about 30 yards out. He shouted look at the state of this on the ball waddling in - right I thought - unleashed a 30 yarder right into the top corner! Most satisfying goal I've ever scored
Like many others I'm enjoying the daily dose of bad news coming from S6. I do have some sympathy for their fans as I well remember the panic I felt when we were in administration in 2002/03. But not too much because they seem to have so many d***s. On the other hand football has needed a reality check for years and even with the new football regulator I can't help thinking that the only way it might happen is for something like this to happen. Having said that, it's a shame it's not a PL club, it would be more appropriate given that the PL is at the root of all the problems.
Lots of pals who are wendys due to me having lived just behind the ground and working at nearby Middlewood hospital in the late 80’s/early 90’s, I don’t want them to disappear but the sweet irony of the North Stand being closed and those in the ground having to look at CHANSIRI spelled out on those seats is truly delicious.
I have a certain amount of sympathy for the genuine fans but for those of them that are knob heads and they have more than their fair share, yes the ones that belittle us every opportunity they get and laugh in our faces...well Whos laughing now, hold your hands up and accept Chansari gambled with your clubs future, something the majority of them were quite happy to get into bed with. Well unfortunately life is tough the gamble they accepted failed and they are now facing the harsh reality of life..as the chickens have come home to roost. Those highly inflated egos of many are now deflating quicker than a tyre with no valve. Nobody in football wants to see Wednesday go totally bust and disbanded, kicked out of the league like Bury, but if its got to be one of the so called bigger clubs that has to go bust before football wakes up and gets its finances sorted, then it's a case of rather them than us, so to speak. Chansari holds all the cards seeing as him and his family own everything. Players are 10 a penny when it comes to holding their registration and league status. The land it self surely is worth a pretty bob or two, so would if sold reap him a good reward especially if any property/units which were built on site were then placed on the rental market So technically he could wind them up tomorrow and still be in the driving seat. Nothing no one can do, other than protest and shout it from the roof tops. All falls on deaf ears and once again they become the laughing stock of not only football but the country It's another Morecombe and Worcester Warriors slide to obscurity and no amount of Chansari berating will help their cause. They got themselves into this mess and like Turkeys voted for Christmas, Reap what you've sowen is my message and accept it.
Maybe they could sell the Sty and get new state-of-the-art 50,000 seater stadium in a prime location. Somewhere like the Outer Hebrides might be good, where they can ply their trade in the Vanorama second division or whatever it's called these days.
It's the modern Day fans I hate but then again we have them and social media gives them the platform to be so irritating. Besides they amount of times we have been robbed by them is unreal. Wembley was definitely match fixing.
