I'm going in big early. Paul "the weatherman" Hudson from Look North at the Springs just up from Temple Newsham.
I’ve been in Ibiza the last few days and had a bit of an eclectic mix . Sat next to Kalvin Phillips on the way there, in the same hotel as Gok Wan and then Ronaldo (the original one from Brazil) was in the restaurant next to our hotel yesterday. I reckon they’d all get in the current Barnsley squad.
Gregg Wallace!, always thought he looked a big strapping bloke on the telly he then rocked up at our place for his inside the factory thing ....reight fc@king dwaaaarf!........sithi.
Tom Hanks, i was flying to Newfoundland an got upgraded to 1st class, i asked him for an Autograph, miserable fooker, all i got was, thanks
Mark Lawerenson in Costa Coffee Southport - miserable individual. Anna Friel was splendid though - we both reached for the last cream buns in Tesco - perfect gentlemen and let her take them!
Sounds like you have more money than @Bossman. Obviously flew first class and staying at the 7Pines resort
Had a pint with Kieran Trippier in Laganas in Zante back when he was at Burnley. Was doing a mate a favour advertising some booze cruises when he was over there and I got chatting to him. Nice kid but not much up there. Felt like he was just one of the lads rather than a footballer who was Prem / top end Champ as well as an England under 21 footballer. Overwhelming was Jamie Peacock. Did some work with him when he was doing some sport education in schools. Great presence and fantastic aura.
I’ve got two. Jeff Hordley, who plays Cain on Emmerdale Farm. I recognised him as the missus is obsessed with it. It was back when I used the train. It was standing room only and I heard a “can you just not?” and looked up to see Jeff complaining that someone was taking photos of him. Another mundane encounter - walked past Ken Bates in Monte Carlo. I told the missus it was Richard Attenborough. “Isn’t he dead?” she asked. “Clearly not.” I replied.
I can believe that with Trippier. I had him as a friend on Facebook from his time at Barnsley & after his loan with us he did a full month partying in Malia. Definitely not the sharpest with the recent carry on with cheating & been seen with a Geordie pornstar.
We saw him in York & he looked agitated & was constantly on the phone. He sadly passed away of cancer a few months later.
Not so much out and about, but back when I used to go out in town on a Wednesday for student night, Livingstones used to sometimes have 'celebrities' in that you could pay for a photo with. More often than not, it was someone from the cast of Hollyoaks. One Wednesday, they advertised 'photos with the cast of the Inbetweeners' and a picture of the 4 main characters. Me and a mate queued for about an hour, only to go behind a curtain for a photo with just one of the main cast (Neil) and the school bully, Donovan. That was an underwhelming experience. On a night out at Uni, my Mrs once asked Kelvin Fletcher from Emmerdale for a photo, but he was gutted when he realised she was asking him to take a photo of her and her friend. She didn't know who he was.
