Who knows, could have been changes from his end, suspect his agent found better terms elsewhere and we were asked to match them.
Disappointing for sure. The prospect of Koroma coming was a great bit of news after Humps going and to me felt a real upgrade but to not end up with either is a real shame. Hopefully they have something else in the pipeline as we are really crying out for some quality wingers.
We move on albeit with our tails between our legs. We do seem to have recent problems getting signings that are in our grasp over the line. First Edvardsen and now this - it's not a good look for the great one.
If the choice was Koroma or Tovide, it would always be the latter for me. Not hindsight either. Mentioned Samson long before the link to Josh. A shame though. Because he’s proven at the level, and to a slight degree, the division up. Would have been an upgrade I imagine on Humphrys. But I guess we will be able to compare them both as the season goes along, assuming Koroma gets a third div club too.
I’m assuming it’s the player/his agent who moved the goal posts. Not sure why we’d go as far as doing a medical and media only to then change a contract offer, also can’t see us briefing the media that we decided to change a contract offer after all that. It lines up with what others have been told as well.
Sounds like an absolute wastrel from most things I've read, so no surprise and no real loss. Not that that detracts much from our ability to compete financially at this crappy level.
Without wishing to see you flip flopping... A player (or his agent) cannot make "significant last-minute changes to elements of the deal". Only the club offering the deal can do that. A player can make significant last-minute changes to his demands, but it doesn't say that.
