Really not a**ed whatsoever about Humphrys, a player that can't turn it on/off whenever he fancies isn't for me thanks and before anyone says he was playing out of position he wasn't the first or the last, he was paid handsomely and at times last season his effort was a disgrace, he wasn't alone but if he doesn't want to play for us I'm not that fussed.

I think I made it obvious, my dislike for Humphrys for the majority of last season. And whilst acknowledging his uptick in form under Conor, in a more suitable position, I was against offering him another deal.

Plenty of young wide players out there who could offer more than he did and for a lot less cash.

If he does re-sign, of course, I’d hope that he continues to improve under Conor. But it smells a bit Hugo Colace to me.

I am definitely bothered about Humphrys not staying and I can't believe some fans are trying to convince themselves otherwise, his work rate could be questioned but he is a quality winger whose output as a winger is top League 1 standard and CH has stated we will need wingers for his style of play.

If he leaves we are left with Jalo, Cotter and Farrugia as winger options. Jalo is already going to miss the start of next season, Farrugia is injury prone and we still don't know if he's good enough and Cotter is desperately lacking in end product even if his work rate is admirable.

So that would mean we need to sign at least 2 quality wingers which is far easier said than done.

This point might be contentious but I don't even think Humphrys work rate was as bad as some make out, I feel like he gets criticism for that just because he doesn't run about like a headless chicken. I saw often that he was finding good spaces but the midfield rarely picked him out which maybe then did lead to frustration and in some instances a lack of effort.

Folk need to be careful what they wish for. Chances are we will end up with a downgrade on Humphrys, as is usually the case when we lose quality.

Agree mate I was just being diplomatic.
As for one or two saying they're not @r5ed if he goes.. If we were making a list of our best players at the club he'd be on it for certain.
Players come and go we know it's all about the standard of replacements.

There were numerous times last season he walked around like a show pony let runners just glide past him without flinching, running around like a headless chicken couldn't be more far apart, we'd have been lucky for him to turn a face the play at times.
I can forgive lack of talent but lack of interest and effort is unforgivable, I'd rather have effort over talent anyday.

It's like he formed some kind of cult like status for his celebrations, winding up opposing fans online and lapping up the adulation from 9 goals or whatever it was.

Good player. Interestingly though Pompey fans are saying he's way better in midfield than up top

I remember people saying that 11/12 years ago and we ended up with a midfield of Dawson and Perkins, be careful what you wish for.

For all Dawson and Perkins lack of skill, workrate was unquestionable, they actually kept this club in the championship against all the odds for many seasons, give me more of them than somebody that barely breaks into a sweat.
Humphrys = overhyped, we're not the first clubs supporters to hold the same opinion of him, can't all be wrong.
He'll move on, others will come in who want to be here.

I wonder what constitutes "absurd" money for DKD? £5 million is an offer we should definitely accept in my opinion, but in today's market I wouldn't class it as absurd. More like the upper end of what I'd consider normal for a player of his quality.

Couldn’t agree more re Perkins and Dawson, always left everything out on the pitch, absolute work horses. I do however, think Humphrys would be a great signing based on his latter games under Conor. He did say that he wasn’t keen on playing the front man.

Plymouth could be this season's Birmingham in League 1. Gareth Bale fronting a purchase by some rich yanks.

Surely Barnsley & South Yorks is more appealing than Plymouth & Devon?

A few things to consider.Conor rates Humphreys hes said as much,he's a winger that scores goals which are few and far between.I imagine he's been offered a good deal but we don't want to be breaking the bank for him.I'd give him a deadline of maybe the end of this week then if he doesn't sign we move on.
