The embargo will be lifted once he pays the wages in full. Be interesting where he goes from that. Embargo 23/24 Embargo 24/25 Embargo 25/? How many chances, does he get. ? . Already turned down 2 offers apparantly.
I, for one, think Dejphon is doing a grand job and I hope he continues to bring them massive success.
Lots of people on Facebook saying they feel sorry for the fans and it’s not their fault, fair enough, but your can’t punish the owner without punishing the club and he’s clearly not fit to run a bath.
All the Wednesday fans I know were crowing and urging Chansiri to keep spending big back in his early days. It was effin obvious that if his gamble on reaching the Prem in those early years failed they would be in the shiz. Absolutely no sympathy for the morons whatsoever. Horrible club, horrible fans.
It reminds me of the financial mess that Leeds were put in, by P diddy Risdale. But loads of their fans (most of who have since admitted doing so), were loving it at the time, without realising what was actually going to happen.
Don’t think we can throw too much shade plenty of the same terrible shenanigans going off at Oakwell that make us no better and look to be on a path leading to the same end result tbh.
Absolutely no sympathy from me. Seen about 4 articles on Facebook about it now. Serves them right. They had to be saved from financial humiliation before Chansiri bought the club, they tried buying theselves into the Prem after he came in - failed. Bought about 20 senior strikers soon after (including Winnall) on high wages, and they all flopped. In League 1 they had a bloated squad of mostly 30 odd year olds - and losing 500k a week. And after all that they still had to stump up the cash for their own ref at Wembley. They aren't a football club, and they deserve nothing.
In fairness though, after that Man of the match performance from him at Wembley. That ref turned out to be their Player of the season.
You honestly comparing our bumbling mismanagement to Chansiri's out and out cheating? Give your head a wobble...
Not in the same league. (No pun intended) I don't think we've failed to pay wages. Had several embargos. Points deductions. Xmas early bird. Ground used as collateral. Even though he bought it from his own consortium. Of which he was the majority shareholder. Debts mounting. Begged fans to cover a £2m bill owed to Hmrc in 2023. And said he was not pouring any more money into the club. A ground that is so outdated. any investor would have to spend £10s of millions to upgrade or imo it wants knocking down and a new built from scratch. But b4 that he wants his money back. That's why finding an investor will be very difficult. Unless sheikh mibooty wants a plaything. Where as ours is increased equity to cover losses. Using their own money. Ours may not be exactly doing a great job. But to equate em to Chansiri. Nah.
I'm guessing that you mean we aren't doing well as a club either. And we shouldn't really be taking the mick out of them, or anybody else ?. Surely your not saying we're doing the same things though, as Chansiri. Because as much as I'm also totally fed up with our owners, with their awful ineptitude, its not the same behaviour.
Saint Danneh blabbing to the German media They’re totally falling apart https://www.owlstalk.co.uk/forums/t...ites-german-newspaper-to-sheffield-wednesday/
Apparently some players still waiting for their wages to be paid and today is the deadline for Chansiri to respond to his and the club's charges. Also have a big HMRC bill to pay within the next week.
Without knowing owt I imagine that Wednesday being Wednesday they'll get a last minute reprieve akin to all the last minuters they've spawned against us down the years.
Sorry, was on holiday so didn’t see your reply at the time. What are the “same terrible shenanigans” you refer to? Are we under a transfer embargo owing to unpaid salaries? Has our ownership group sold the stadium to itself? Does our ownership group create fictional companies to use as sponsors? Does it say PAREKH or CRYNE for example on the East Stand seats? Is there a shrine to the owners in the upper reaches of the Ponty End? Does BFC release season tickets in December, charging upwards of £700? Or matchday tickets at £46? It’s not perfect at BFC. The financial losses in recent years are very worrying. That’s my major concern. But most of the other issues are bird feed compared to the huge club down the road.
