Another example of how the game makes no sense anymore.

    PS. It’s not MDG…

They weren’t doing that kind of business when David Currie was running rings round Willo and the rest

It's a mystery why they haven't spent any of their millions on expanding their pathetic stadium

I guess this will be because of the potential Kerkez sale.

When I first properly started getting in to football (late 90s/early 2000s) I couldn’t tell you what division Bournemouth was in at that point but I would probably guess at the bottom one. Brentford too.

Because they didn't own it until about a month ago

That's a relatively low fee for a Premier League team nowadays. He'll be replacing Kerkez, who is off to Liverpool for a rumoured £45m. Not bad going when they signed him for less than £20m two years ago.

They will be doing. They've agreed to buy it back from those who own it at the mo. And building a new one in phases. Around the present one. (Bit like us really) increasing the capacity to 23k. At present they make £5m+ from ticket sales. Only 3.8% of their total income. Bonkers.

Because it helps them. Look at how teams like Coventry and Southampton went downhill after going to play in front of more fans.

Yes it is but it’s still crazy money for a little club like that to be splashing around. They’re still Bournemouth and Boscombe Football Club to me with no history of winning anything. They did beat MU in an FA Cup tie back in the early 1970s but that was when they had Ted MacDougall up front smashing the goals in for fun.

I was having a "conversation" with a Reading fan giving it the big en on FB yesterday, reminding him how small a club Reading actually is. Like a Southern version of Wigan. Like they almost forgot they were always a 3rd/4th Division club throughout their history, until they had to buy all of 2 stuttering seasons in the Prem. I had to remind him that Barnsley got there before they did, without having to buy it. And now they're back where they belong.

Fair enough, wasn't aware of that.
