Where exactly do we put these new reservoirs? There aren't that many places you can build one and anything under the area is lost forever. It would take decades to get past the NIMBYs to get approval for a new one.
Yeah. What a miserable start to a bank holiday weekend. Been gorgeous whilst I've been at work. Pay day not while next Wednesday and I'm skint. Would have been nice to get some steps in and clear my head with not having George. Instead couped up in house being miserable with no football or naff all. At least we can get nice and wet over a poor, unfortunate reservoir. Joking aside. My mum and Dad go to breakfast at Weather spoons to meet my aunt and uncle so I'm going to have to walk to Aldi for my cider in this.
Don’t let rain stop you! Put a coat and a good pair of shoes on and off you go. Maybe wear shorts instead of trousers (unless you’ve got some waterproof ones) as it’s easier to dry your legs rather than having soggy trousers to try and dry afterwards. It’s still warm enough to be pleasant.
Aye, there's no such thing as bad weather, it's inadequate clothing as the sign above Winfields in Keswick used to say, which was unsurprising as they used to sell outdoor clothing.
Played last night, here's a photo of the gravel drainage banding which was previously just a couple of mm wide. https://drive.proton.me/urls/PXEXDWDRG8#o5qjfuAwGDmx
Hard to say definitively. Even in the pre-industrial age such unusual weather would hsve happened. However, these unusual weather conditions are becoming increasingly common. Our UK climate seems to be oscillating between drought and floods.
