Unless something has changed, Jackson Smith was supposed to be our long term no.1.

If so, then it will be him and Flavell to battle it out for the no.1 spot.

Money would be better spent elsewhere imo. Not saying they are both world beaters, but they’ll do for now.

How about Max Crocombe, out of contract at Burton, experienced and been keeping Harry Istead out of the side all season, thoughts?

Palace have another goalkeeper called Joe Whitworth who was on loan at Exeter this season. He got one of the player of the season awards (can't remember if it was supporters or players POTS) Looks like Palace may have quite a few good keepers on their books. Will be hard to keep them all happy so may be willing to offload one or two.

It's a great shout. Vastly experienced and I think he's captained them a couple of times when Sweeney has been out. He had a right game at Oakwell this year.

Yeah no chance now, and he seems set to join Watford anyway.

I think the op is spot on it I'll be Jed Steer that comes in, in a player coach role.. 33 in September so has a couple of years left at least.. Him first choice and ether Smith or Flavell one to stay and challenge him and loan the one out..

Gilks leaving, how about Dave Watson returning as Goalkeeping coach, don’t know what he’s been doing since he left Southampton

What about Andrew Scullion? 62 years old. Just had a season with Darlington Railway Welfare. Good on the mic at Darlington as Head of Promotions as well. Our kind of signing.
