Seems like Man City letting him go at end of season.A few premier clubs are interested apparently too many injuries.Would be nice to see him back here when he has finished playing as a coach.
Couple of seasons playing for us on £3k a week is just what he needs I reckon. He's hardly strapped for cash!
Has he got a return-to-sender clause in his contract? That is back to his birthing club. If that's us.
Having worked hard to bank £40 million quid over the course of his career, I'm assuming the last thing he's planning on doing is losing the lot within a couple of years of retiring!
I think he will go to Bayern Munich, They have just lost Eric Dier to Monaco. Very similar playing styles. Ball playing centre back, right back and defensive midfield. Although Bayern will be getting a upgrade on Dier because Stones is a lot better (no bias)
A fit John stones makes every team in the premier league stronger. He’ll more likely go abroad - if he fancies it. Can see him back at Everton if he wants to stay in the U.K. City won’t overcharge on his fee you wouldn’t think, he has the affinity to the club, plus they have a new stadium to fill - some big name signings will help. He’s got Bayern or PSG written all over him though. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him in Spain either.
When Stones is fully fit and playing regularly he is the best English defender and arguably one of the best in the world. However he has played less and less games each season due to injury which is sad and a big problem for him, City and England. Unfortunately im not convinced his injury record will get better from here so it makes his options limited. I agree the best move could be abroad, less games, better climate etc. City seem to have the same issue with Akanji and Ake so they really cant afford to keep em all.
Hed run out in less than a year or 2 - like someone above says get to Saudi for a couple of years and then buy us...
