Buzzing for them. A last minute winner to gain promotion. It doesn’t get much better than that.

On the plus side it’s another derby.

On the negative side it’s a club who should (with their crowds) have more money than us to spend.

Did that bet come in then?

Remember you had Bradford to go up and was being offered a cash out

Remember when we got promoted that day to Premier League and we had played Bradford City.
Their fans were on pitch with us celebrating.
A really fantastic moment and something I'll never forget.

They were class to be fare' i believe a couple of coaches from Barnsley went to support them in their relegation battle after aswell' we went from fierce rivals in the 70s to having a bit of a special relationship' great stuff' if only everyone could show such class to each other and get on..

This Fleetwood vloger has done our games before. This is a good vlog even though I'm not a fan of either team.

Controversial opinion but I still maintain that Barnsley fans caused most of the trouble that day. At the next home game I saw grown men admitting to disgusting behaviour "to prove a point"

Is that the time when at full time we were all made to stay in our seats, not even allowing people to go to the concourse so they could use the toilet.

I went to both games 1st one under wilson we sold the back of the net and the little half stand on the side. Think there was quite abit of bother after the game. Next season we played them 1st game under Lee jay we had the allocation cut due to the behaviour of fans 6months earlier and before during and after the game it was police everywhere. Towards the end and after the game people we stopped from going into the concourse even to use the toilet I remember even older folk been denied that. I remember your take on it very pro police but sometimes common sense should prevail.

I remember it too. Given especially that at the time Bradford themselves needed points. So it was mighty sporting of them to react at the final whistle as they did!

I agree that common sense could have prevailed quite a bit but the initial problem was caused by badly behaved fans in the toilets and was exasperated by people acting like dicks for the sake of it. "They can't keep us in, I'm going to go and riot" didn't solve anything, didn't help anything and just led to us all kept in for longer than needed.
I genuinely had a 60+ fan say to me at the next game that he had deliberately had a piss in public to prove a point. He didn't need one but he was proving a point by pissing in front of people. Charming.

Did you actually go to that game? The keeping people in and reduced allocation was caused by barnsley fans behaviour 6 months previous trouble in town after the game. We were given a note on entry saying we would be kept behind after the game. I saw no trouble in the toilets for police and stewards to stop pensioners women and children using them.

Yes I was there. I saw some disgraceful behaviour from our fans

I did the 1st time round especially after the game. 2nd time I saw some by the stewards and police.

I was there, don't remember any note before the game. I was with the old man, and after the game when they were keeping us all in under the stand, just next to the gate, I simply asked one of the coppers if we could go, explained there was just me and the old man, and he just let us through.

    No mate.

    It was:
    Liverpool top 4
    Sheff Utd promoted
    Huddersfield top 2
    Bradford promoted
    Gateshead top 7

I cashed out at £440 or something when Huddersfield started to stumble, and because the missus' lad plays for Gateshead, and he was injured in December and then they started selling others, I had a feeling they'd not have the quality. Turns out I was right. Went from potential title winners to mid-table form, at best. Won about six games since he did his cruciate five months back. We went up there yesterday to watch, and they just had to beat Southend to sneak back in and claim a playoff place (having been in the top seven from game 1 to game 44). A draw or defeat and Southend took 7th instead. It was 0-0 and proper bleak. Anyway, I'm rambling.

But yeah. I bottled it in early March and took the money. Glad now, obviously.

Still not a bad payout from £20 or whatever it was.

1st time under wilson we lost 3 1 I think it was I saw plenty of fans behaving badly after the game.

2nd time under Lee Johnson lost 2 1 we sold the back of the goal and this time didn't give us the side part and kept us in after the game. Pretty sure it was down to our fans 6 months previously.

Ah yeah it was the second time I went to. Problem is that the way fans were treated with reduced capacity and being warned we would be kept behind was because of the behaviour of fans previously. And when asked to stay behind which lets be honest was common in the past, a lot of our fans turned into animals.

Definitely a decent return and a good shout at cashing out with the knowledge you had of Gateshead.

Incidentally, I watched the Gateshead game. To say it was a shoot out between the 2 for a play off spot, it wasn't as blood and guts as I thought it would be. Of all the games I picked to watch (probably understandable why I picked this one) it was the only game in the division that didn't have a goal lol.

Im not generally a fan of cash out, it's too tempting, but I love it when I see someone like this beat the bookies using it
