Field Of Gold a worthy favourite? Aidan's challenger looks sub-standard, and Will Buick looks to have deserted the better of the Charlie Appleby duo on form.
There's about 4 I think with what one would call realistic chances. On balance I think Shadow Of Light looks the best value in the race in spite of Buick picking the other horse. I think Shadow Of Light will get the trip and I'm not 100% convinced by Field Of Gold till I see it replicate that last run. Perhaps the horse will do that today but, as said, if I was betting today it would be Barzelona's horse. I'm not betting though....
Good call, i've got a bit e / way on Wimbledon Hawkeye, but i fear fear your selection and Shadow of Light.
Shadow Of Light has the two Group1's to his name, but Appleby and Buick appear to have some reservations about him getting the full mile. He still has a Commonwealth Cup entry over six furlongs. They seem to view Ruling Court as a potential Derby horse, with this being something of a trial for that race. Ruling Court finished behind Wimbledon Hawkeye at York last August. Meanwhile Gosden reckons he only had Field Of Gold 85% fit before the Craven. Interesting race.
Based on Ballydoyle’s record in the race and that he is their only representative, it’s Expanded for me.
Desert Flower did me proud in 1,000 .. had a few bets from 9/2 to 7/4 going back a few months. Perfect timing, balance and strength from Buick…
