Fingers crossed it doesn't happen but after an earthqake of 7.4 magnitude, it could well do. Not as big as the one that triggered the tsunami in Thailand during 2004 but 7.4 is still serious.
Is the U.K ever at risk from Tsunami's? I know there was one in the 1600's that coincided with the high tide of the River Severn and during the Ice Age there was a large land mass off the East Coast (Doggerbank) that was wiped out by a Tsunami. I've often wondered why we don't get them.
Because we're far away from any tectonic plate boundaries, which is where earthquakes (and therefore tsunami) happen
Guess there was a lot more ice mass to trigger back then. Suppose in the uk we don't really get as much impact from a quake not being close to where the tectonic plates meet. We sit with half the atlantic to the edge of the Eurasion plate. Chile on the other hand sit right on the edge of the South American plate.
We're not in a major earthquake zone is the major reason although there might be a risk from this. Which would be really bad in many places....
As an aside hard to believe there was a large land mass between us and mainland Europe. I presume ships have to avoid it. Can't be that far down?
Once watched a documentary that said there's a theoretical danger from volcanic activity on one of the Canary island causing half the island to literally collapse into the Atlantic causing a massive tsunamis to radiate out and affect both sides of the Atlantic including the UK, according to the documentary I was watching about it it would be pretty catastrophic if it did happen although it's all theoretical until it does.
I've read and watched about that a lot, and what I don't get is why there isn't a similar threat from the Arctic, as there are similar events caused by ice every day. Literally slabs of ice the size of a small town, many times bigger than the Canaries cliffs, slipping into the sea.

In Alaska and Greenland the glacial Ice can cause mega Tsunamis in the coves and channels. I find it fascinating. People kayak over the glacial ripples.
