Last time i went i vowed “never again”. However, my husband has just bought tickets for a concert at the Tower Ballroom. No late train. Any suggestions for a hotel that is not in the thick of the partying and the street junkies? Don’t mind being further out and getting a taxi.
Golden Sands at Gynn Square. Angie is a great host. Out of the noise of the centre, but only a 10-15 minute walk.
We stayed in Bispham once. Out of the hustle and bustle of Blackpool, but only a 5 minute tram ride down the coast. Don't remember the name of the hotel, but it was a typical 'Blackpool' one in the sense that it needed money spending on it. It was sort of between Blackpool and Bispham, so not overrun with bars, mainly just hotels so it was quiet. I guess as a rule of thumb, anywhere after where the illuminations finish. Cleveleys and Fleetwood are on the tram route too.
We stayed at Mode Breck Apartments in Poulton le Flyde when we did a Blackpool theatre trip. All of the suites are differently themed and the area was nice and quiet but still with places to eat. Apparently, Jane McDonald was staying in one of the other rooms whilst we were there. https://www.modehotel.co.uk/stay/breck-apartments-poulton-le-fylde-hotels
Premier inn there's one in the town center one just outside and one in Bispham. I've stayed in the town center and Bispham one never no problem. There's a travel lodge near the football ground and one of my mates has stayed in the football club hotel and said that was good. Good luck.
We’ve stayed at the big blue up by the pleasure beach a couple of times - always been alright and quiet. Think there’s one next door to it part of same complex too that’s a bit more expensive.
New Esplanade up by the Pleasure Beach is nice. Room to park, across from the tram stop, nice owners (they bought my son a present when we told them it was his birthday) and decent cooked breakfast.
Cheap and cheerful. (If you have a great night out and meet someone without a room and decide to be a good Samaritan do you have to pay again?)
I never did, mind you a lot of strange looking women had good nights, all provided by a good samaritan.
A lot of women insist on hotels being booked beforehand. When I first met my ex on Plenty of Fish. She insisted I booked a Hotel in Rotherham. I did, when I came back from my night out there was a bloke lied in my bed and all my belongings were tossed on the floor. I said this is my room. Then this burly trucker got up and told me he'd noticed some 5 hite in the wardrobe and told me to do one to reception. They'd double booked the room and gave me another room. Never slept a wink. Eyes glued to the door handle.
Stayed in Blackpool last night after Only Fools and Horse musical, felt unsafe walking back to b&b. It's a **** hole, barnsley as a town is streets ahead of Blackpool.
