A great drummer in a great band absolutely love watching him properly going for it in the video for their song ‘ Dreaming ‘ it’s a proper workout.
A real enthusiast too...it's only a couple of years back he flew to Britain and backed Bootleg Blondie at the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds.
Saw them in Halifax last year, not often a drummer draws your attention but he certainly did. RIP to a great bloke by all accounts.
Am dreadfully sad. Personally. The heart & soul of a great band & so much more. We talk about musician’s musicians. & he truly was. I missed out on meeting him 2007/8. I was asked to give Chris & Debbie a tour of Kenwood House where I had worked. They were very sweet. Blondie were playing the summer concerts in the park. But Clem did the sound check & buggered off to Camden Town to find some new clothes for that show. I really wanted to meet Clem, because he was a nerd for everything British independent & a fan of stuff I had been involved with. & I wanted to talk Beatles.. Clem was busy to the end . Drumming great, just a couple of months ago. With young NY bands.. Losing any player is sad, but when you’re still active & so much more to give, its particularly so.. Same when Prince left. Hardly done, or washed up. I grew up with Blondie & Clem was the heartbeat of that beautiful fcking band. & so soon after losing David Johansen..
