So I take it,if you are of fighting age(which obviously I don't know) and we went to war tomorrow under Starmer that you didn't agree with but you were made to conscript you'd happily sacrifice yourself because you wouldn't want to change the ripple effect for future generations?.
I'm 30 years past prime fighting age. But I would likely have been a conscientious objector anyway if it had happened in my younger days. The problem isn't the ripple effect for future generations, those are unknown. Going back in time to kill Hitler would change events significantly in this world. For all you know, you might not be born as a result. Then you can't go back to kill Baby Hitler, but you already did. So you get a paradox and nobody knows what the effects of that are. But then, you get into multiverse theory - would going back to kill Baby Hitler kill the Baby Hitler in this universe or would it be one in another parallel universe?
Not a famous event but I’d love to go back to that last pint I had with my dad: though I didn’t know it would be our last pint at the time.
Sad story mate.... We should treasure every moment as though it could be our last, because one day it just might
I couldn’t comment as I don’t know of his upbringing and influences growing up Poor comparison though as whilst it raises the Nurture v Nature debate if Hitler had been brought up in the UK as a British citizen as an example he would never had the opportunity to get into German politics and therefore would never have become Chancellor and by turn would never have continued from there.
Although he could have got into British politics leading to a 1930s alliance between Britain, Italy and Japan. We could have been the bad guys.
So I've worked for the civil service from 1995 to 2020 in two different jobs so I think I've done my bit however if I was born in the USA I could have been another Jeffrey Dahmer !.
Indeed and with the Fascist having come so close at the time it would be a possibility. He could also have become a Priest .
