We don't compare well with, say, Rotherham United for public relations at the moment. Evans is quoted as naming the striker targets they went for in the window, including Kenny from Celtic and One from Blades. It wouldn't do any harm to public relations if we were to be informed similarly by Mladen. It would at least allow the fans to understand that efforts were made, but couldn't be concluded. Hearing nothing leads to the suspicion that nothing was being done, which is probably far from the truth, but the silence breeds a feeling of cover-up, which is not helpful. The board must realise that relationships with the fan base need improvement at the moment, so silence in this respect, other than less than a minute's statement, is not helping and just adds to the frustration. Come on, Mladen, spill the beans. It will help both you and the fan base.
Either way, probably goes down as another unproven gamble of some sort. Least Donovan will keep him company
Evans is an egotistical pr1ck though. He's not doing it because its the right thing to do, he's doing it because it makes him look & feel good to the media. Can't see how it helps anyone.
But think how much he will have matured and improved since he last graced the Oakwell turf. Proper marquee signing…
I had thought about him a while ago when I'd read he'd left Kansas. Left a bit of a legacy there. Of the names mentioned, he'd be the one I'd be most happy with. Though I can't see it.
