Older strikers

The other week Lincoln City signed James Collins.Some members stated he was just what we needed.
Present day BFC linked with Jordan Rhodes.some BBS members have written him off as too old,legs have gone etc.
Both players aged 34.
Collins 669 games scored 216
Rhodes 648 games scored 247.
Just saying.

 

Cauley Woodrow 30 years old .

 

Don't care how old they are as long as they know how to put the ball into the back of the net tbh.
We're going nowhere until we get somebody who can.

 

Derek Riordan, 42 yers old, worth a punt

 

James Collins is a workhorse, an in your face pain in the butt to centre halves. He’s hard work to play against. Rhodes has always been one of those players who doesn’t get involved much but who could finish.
I’d rather have Collins at 34 than Rhodes. Someone might sign him and he might flourish, we’ll see. Doesn’t sound like we will be doing anyway.

However, keeping hold of some players for more than a year, is also a problem.

James Norwood is 34 and has 8 goals in non League there's no comparison.

 

I think the point that you're missing, that I'm being a tad facetious about, is that everytime someone mentions the fact that we shouldn't trawl the non league scene, as players are in non league for a reason, someone will pipe up with the fact that Wycombe sprang Kone from the 17th tier and look how well he's doing.
Nevermind.
