You accepted the job on promises that if you wanted the players you wanted, you could have them. Now you need a complete team, because the dross that is playing down at jokewell we'll be lucky to still be in league 1 next season: because there is no way you are going to get the players in, that are better than what we have got because they who are in charge are not ambitious enough because they will spend the money that is needed to make a team to challenge for promotion because they are only bothered about lining their own pockets and just letting little old barnsley ticking over so while this hierarchy are still in charge, that is where we are. If I was any manager out of a job I would steer clear of barnsley, while these people are in charge.
"You accepted the job on promises that if you wanted the players you wanted you could have them " Where did you read that?
Chuck a full stop in every now and again cocker, save me from passing out trying to read it, life is hard enough
I tell you what is frustrating me Clark with you going on about signings is the way our team perform.
Can someone tell me how you line your own pockets by throwing over £10m of your own money into a black hole?
In theory he will never get players he wants. He asks for positions and then gets offered what we think is achievable he then selects what he would like that from that. Doesn’t mean it’s what he wants etc
To be honest, I've had enough of these owners now.I would rather have people in charge who knows about football and business but perhaps have a little less to give the recruitment team as opposed to a modest amount to someone who looks at a spreadsheet. The proof recently suggests it doesn't work. Just for inquisitiveness I'd like to know who is behind recruitment at Orient because as far as I'm aware they haven't chucked loads of money at it.If they get into the playoffs they will get promoted.
Clarke shouldn't resign and shouldn't be sacked. The players identified as potential signings should primarily be done by Clarke. We have this the wrong way round. The board should be listening to Clarke and backing him. It often looks like the coach has to listen to the board first at BFC. If the board think Clarke is the right guy (presumably they do) he should have much more input on recruitment at least.
It's Hearn and his Matchroom business behind Orient. They have been losing £3-4m per year in recent years. They've had a real cull in terms of squad size but taken a number of Premier League and Championship loanees.
A bit like what we should be doing then. We were beaten last night by a team going well with less resources who have an appropriate squad and playing style for this league. The Board are still welded to the player trading model rather than achieving success on the pitch imho. They've scraped the bottom of the barrell once too often and are left with an unbalanced squad of largely borderline players.
