No not really, Newcastle, Man u, Man city, Sunderland, Liverpool, Barcelona Real Madrid, now we're talking big support, Wednesday are a country mile from those teams
Would be interesting to know if we ever had more away supporters than home at Oakwell. Last night went close
Not a chance unless the club have bought up a load of tickets and left the seats empty themselves to fudge the attendance figures and avoid embarrassment
Its a pathetic and pointless competition now isnt it, to be honest. Compared to what it originally used to be, and I wish clubs had the option of avoiding it. Fans often suggest merging it with the League cup, but that will never happen.
Premier league toddlers should be kicked out and group stage reduced by a team per groups which should be played pre season to get clubs fit. The remaining 4 rounds should be played during the 4 international breaks with the final at the end of the season as usual. And to get some interest in it the winner should get a bye to the third round of the fa cup the following season (with the team who finishes 4th bottom of the championship missing out) Sorted.
Seem to remember Sunderland having a huge away following . Think we lost 1-0 at home to them in the 90s, can't remember which season, remembered when they scored there were pockets of fans in all sections of the ground
