Voted not sure but its pissing me off. I can only get to weekend games -Saturday lunchtime or evening are possible for me but not so convenient - Friday and Monday dont work. A combination of Sky and International breaks is playing havoc with my attendance. I did get to the first game on the Friday night but that was an exception and is very difficult I am unlikely to get to anymore Friday games and Monday games are even worse for me I probably will renew just to keep the seat with Dad and the others I have known for years around me but its by no means certain. It makes no financial sense to have a Season ticket but it doesnt make financial sense to support a team 200 miles away either
Not sure but I don't mind a Friday night few jars before and then game and home for bed. 7.15 is abit **** though.
Me too, amongst other reasons. I didn't get to many games last season when I did have a ST, it'd probably have been a small handful this season.
The Rotherham game is on Sky sports + and not on ifollow, ifollow has been around years but isn't the factor in changing kick off times/dates unlike sky
I’ll be renewing but completely understand peoples frustrations with it. My uncle who has been coming to matches for 50 odd years doesn’t want to come anymore. Busses are crap for him to get home after the night games and he’s just a hassle that he doesn’t need. For me I can’t watch a game at oakwell on the TV and not feel guilty that I am not there a part of it. Doesn’t feel right as a fan to watch on TV and not in the ground. They need to run a poll through the season ticket holders to get a proper understanding of their plans for next season and really understand the impact that these kick offs are having on the fan base.
Voted not sure as I’m not sure what my son will be doing or what job I’ll have as I’m contracting again - the fluctuating kick offs might make it untenable. It’s ridiculous. I’m on a 9-5 at the moment but it still makes it hard to get to the Rotherham game, 7:45 is a bit of a push sometimes. Where they’ve got 7:15 on a Friday from I don’t know. Taking the absolute piss. I have to travel further than most of the away fans too for this game - if there continue to be fewer and fewer 3pm Saturday kick offs I’d have to strongly consider not renewing next year. Saturday nights my boy works now, part time job while the does his A levels; he has rugby games on Sundays during the union season, works Sunday nights too most weeks - and midweek games generally are difficult with work and living in Donny (which I appreciate is a lot closer than some, but still). Giving more and more strange kick off times and weekday fixtures will kill me off as a season ticket holder - and is already doing so to many long term fans. Something has to be done. The money they’ve got from sky doesn’t offset the loss on revenue from matchday they will suffer imo.
The solution might be to lift the Saturday 3pm TV black out. That way Sky get to show the lot on Sky Sports + if they want and fans get to attend at the preferred time. I know this always comes with the argument that attendances will drop but it may be a better option than all the weird kick off times.
How many fans live abroad that's buying season tickets ?? Can't be any so the point stands game is on Sky which potentially along with all the changes will start biting into season ticket sales. For those fans that live abroad like yourself im Sure its hardly any impact if your committed to watching the game on TV anyway
