Just to add some balance, scientists and scientific thinking are often proven wrong, especially in areas like this. It's only approx last 400 years that our top minds believed the Earth was the centre of the universe. Only 100 years ago scientists believed it was impossible for man to get into space. This planet has a unique way of regulating it's temperature that we are unaware of, hence all the differing theories. Once we crack either zero point energy (and we probably already have), nuclear fusion, the entire worlds energy system will change and our planet will heal. It's scary that climate scientists base their thinking that scientifically we will not progress in this way.
In the last few years Donny has built big around Gresley Square, a new Council building, the Cast theatre, a new college, a cinema, a new central library...there isn't a solar panel, green roof or living wall on any of it and yet Cllrs voted to affirm that we were in a climate emergency.
Could you explain to us all why you, a bloke on the internet, feels like he is able to 'add balance' to a subject that has been studied by experts in the field for the last 50+ years. What balance are you bringing? What are your credentials and what are your published papers? What makes you believe that you are able to add balance to this scientific theory?
"enjoy the 15 minute city, the curfews, the blackouts, the lockdowns. They're coming" This isn't an opinion. It's utter utter ********. It's utter conspiracy ******** designed to scare people. It's no more a valid opinion than claiming that in your opinion 2 plus 2 equals 39 and a quarter and for posting such damaging ******** you are a ******* idiot.
Save your breath, he's literally Casual Tyke who thinks the moon landings are ********, 9/11 was an inside job and he was convinced Trump would be sworn in for a second term and hang a load of paedos from the lampposts in Washington (and tried to welch on a bet to donate to charity when it didn't happen)
By its very nature the scientific approach refines itself and changes in the face of new evidence. The fact that past theories have been wrong is not evidence that current theories are likely to be wrong. Based on the evidence the consensus is that man made climate change is real and an existential threat.
Did scientists in the 60s actually claim that with any certainty? Just curious as the 1960s is well over half a century ago so it's a long time to accurately remember a newspaper article from then.
We are on Planet C . The Sun (Planet A) is the result of a previous emission culture. Burst into flames etc . The Moon (Planet B) was sucked dry by a previous Labour Overseer . Earth (Planet C ) is " Last Chance Saloon " . My sci-fi story , patented .
Maybe pure historic facts. Science and our understanding of the universe is constantly evolving. I added a couple of facts to add that balance. Not me as a bloke on the internet making those theories up, just historic facts on how our experts viewed certain things and have been proven wrong.
It was the daily mirror headlines at the time, they were realising the problems then but over reacted to it I think.
To be fair, thats one former Greenpeace Directors pressure group. Not 97% of the climate science community.
I feel more than confident that my intellect, whilst certainly not MENSA level, is more than adequate to form opinions on current events. And frankly, your ad hominem comments speak more to your inability to accept that other people don't think the same way as you do, than to my ability to think. Can you not argue your point without getting personal? I don't know you, you're a fake name on a football forum, I disagree with your viewpoint on climate change, it doesn't mean I think you're a bad person, or stupid, or dim. I just think you've been lied to, and you've bought it. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm an intelligent man, who works, has a family, pays taxes like most other people on here. I don't appreciate being essentially picked on by you. You've replied to a comment from what? 2/3 days ago? Are you a bully? What's your problem? I'm happy to discuss the actual topic, but I'm not going to start name-calling.
I've come across a newspaper dated 1936 in which it revealed news of the ozone and how it was damaged. Can't recall which paper, but it stuffed in an infill. It came to light whilst we were on demolition work.
They're having their industrial revolutions We kicked the whole thing off in this country so we can hardly moan at other countries bettering their inhabitants lives.
