I think our strikers are more than good enough if we play quickly enough. When we pass it for passings sake or go long they get frustrated. The best I've seen us play was Wigan away and 25 mins to 75 v Mansfield. Told Northampton was stand out for 70 mins too. If the players were fitter can't see any reason that all our attacking players (not just strikers) can't hit double figures.
I haven't seen enough of either to make my mind up dkd looked good in his debut and Humphrys looks physical and took his goal well v burton but time will tell if they are a upgrade on Cole and mcatee.
Where I think our biggest problem going forwards is that our strikers are so static that it makes it impossible for the midfield to pass quickly to them. You can't pass to Cosgrove because he's constantly stood offside or tryi to get the defenders shirt off his back and Watters is always standing still facing the wrong direction.
I don’t need reminding of anything thanks. I know what is deemed on target, but the margin of error is so small I’d always give the player the benefit of the doubt for beating the keeper and hitting the post. Certainly wouldn’t beat myself up for hitting the post or crossbar when I used to play.
1 in 3 for Rochdale & Southend in league one, roughly. First season with Wigan in league 1 he got 18 league goals in 38 games. So he has a decent record when fully fit.
The quality of the strikers right now is irrelevant. Whilst the opposition play a high energy pressing game and we can’t counter it then promotion is a long long way off. When we play pass and move we’re a very different proposition but we can’t seem to keep that up for very long. I have no idea how to get around that as the only badges I have is a gold personal survival swimming badge and one from the scouts for being able to boil potatoes.
