Don't think there's a problem with it personally although watching Arsenal is an acquired taste, like enduring Stoke City in a posh but slightly dated stadium. What I would have a problem with is if he denies a public enquiry into the Thatcher government's conduct around Orgreave.
Since 2019, Starmer has received gifts totaling £215k - roughly £10k than Boris Johnson's wallpaper alone. Not defending him, as it is terrible - both doing it and how it looks - but things need to be in perspective.
as far as I can see not 1 person has excused it. Some may have given a reason it looks like. a hint of jealousy? I read this the other day, it made me laugh initially then I felt a tad sad about it actually… The average reform voter is usually sat in Wetherspoons moaning about those who have more whilst blaming those who have less.
The perspective though Scoff is that this should have been a complete reset from years of tory sleaze... the box at Arsenal I've no problem with, but having loudly spoken out as holier than thou, taking freebies from all and sundry smells as though little has changed.
How much do rail middle and senior management bureaucrats " earn", for not having any real responsibility and certainly not being directly in control of £millions of equipment and scores or hundreds of lives?
Jealous are you joking? If people earn whatever fair play along as their getting off there back sides and working. But for a job which requires no degree etc I'd say its very well paid almost over paid.. if I was a nurse, teacher, prison officer I'd be on phone to my union rep. As for Sat in wetherspoons I've worked since I was 18 done a apprenticeship, and I thought it was the average labour voter jealous of anyone making money.
Think the tide is changing to I hate Labour with folks voting and not having a clue of the plans of who they are voting for.
The Tories had agreed on the pay structure with the union it was the working practises that was the sticking point.
On this board if you go against the beloved Labour Party your apparently a thick reform voter who spends all day in wetherspoons
Full invoice here for Boris My original point wasn't about the cost similarities, or otherwise, it was mainly about someone making hay out of wasted spending of public funds and then seemingly not applying his own logic. I guess someone could argue at least Boris spent it on a government building and not his own property. Starmer seems to have just spent it on himself?
They have at least engaged with public sector workers. Unfortunately they are too scared/in hock to the RW press to do anything transformative. no evidence of mass corruption or syphoning off public monies to their mates. It’s a low bar but they are much better. Not what we need but better.
