Great place Cambridge, I lived there from December1978 to December 1982 (my first job after Uni), bit of a trek to Oakwell though. A workmate was a fellow of St Johns College and he used to get a college punt for nowt and in the summer, we'd go up to Grantchester after the pubs shut with some food and beer all night, it was fantastic.
The advertising boards around the ground were back to the 1980s- Totally amateur watching other clubs today! That’s why we can’t compete!
I thought the split of the CEO functions was meant to address these matters by giving each incumbent responsibility for their own particular specialism. Perhaps the penny pinching with regard to recruiting is across the board for the entire operation.
I like how folk are comparing other places on other cities, the point is it’s gone up and it’s too dear and folk saying I’ve never bought food or drink, why are you even commenting?
Blimey! 45 years ago since we were last in League 2. Not bad methinks; especially as the bulk of those years have been in the Championship, bolstering a proud record!
So buying in for £1-82 per pint and adding on £4-68 for the trouble of putting it into a plastic glass. People must be mad to pay that...especially for that pseudo Spanish p**s.
The board just don't listen, about anything and we have supposed to a couple of fan coordinators or whatever they are called. Its time the board got in the real world and sorted the mess out now before its too late, as you say we are going backwards in every aspect
I think they have listened in some aspects. Certainly regarding the CEO positions and on field decisions I.e experience (also probably from new sporting director.). The prices are what they are, roughly the same price as loads and loads of other clubs. The service is another matter though and its quite embarrassing it hasn't yet been sorted. I dont understand why it hasn't but it needs to be. Isnt that down to the CEO now? No idea. People refuse to go games due to board, thats their right, people 'moan' about prices etc but then also moan when we dont spend any money on recruitment. Everything goes hand in hand mate. And before anyone rages I dont mean people who cannot afford to go, or ill health etc. Cost of football is abhorrent these days. Its shameful. But would you be happy to lower prices around the club in every area, but then not complain about our league finishes if we have to sell players on cheap again or drop down below play offs etc?
East stand queues were non existent at half time. One of the better home attendances we will get all season and they won't have made anything like as much as they expected to do. Hope it continues so they realise that fans won't put up with being ripped off. Just because other places rip people off doesn't make it fair game for us to follow suit.
every where does it though. All pubs. We sell cruzcampo at our rugby club. We sell at £4:40 a pint which is cheap compared to most paces. Seen it at £6 a pint. A keg is cheaper than a keg of coors but everywhere sells it as a premium lager
Not saying otherwise mate. It boggles my mind that people pay for those prices. But I can also understand the why for it from the clubs side, especially when losing vast amounts of money.
