Last years winner Jon McAtee followed in the time honoured tradition of winning the only (non existent) trophy that matters the BBS player of the Season and then buggering off.

in fairness he is the first loan player we have taken to our hearts on that level in a long time.

    So 2024/25.

Any rule changes / end of season bonus rounds that anyone would like?

If you have can you drop a list here by Wednesday evening.

    Thanks, JV.
No rule change suggestion, but wonder if it's possible to make the active poll(s) a sticky so they don't get lost (e.g. rapidly relegated beyond the front page due to political thread pollution).

I tried that last season and people weren’t keen but let’s give it a go for the Mansfield game and see how it goes because i sorta agree and it’ll be easier for me too!

    Thanks for doing this, Jimmy!

I honestly can't remember McAtee winning last seasons poll thingy. All I seem to remember was MDG leading for a good long while during the season

    Top man, Jimmy.
Same as AT & TTTF, really appreciate your efforts on this & your responsiveness to suggestions over the seasons brilliant.
I didn't know this was tried last season, but resolve to bump as much as possible if it goes the same way this time :)

if the season had been a couple months f weeks longer Phillips would have won. MDG faded very badly in the last couple of months.

Yes I recall Phillips having a very strong end, but just remember MDG for id say at least 60% of season early on being top. Just can't remember seeing McAtee sneak it at end! Only Phillips and mdg :D

one of the few pleasures a man of a certain age gets. When I was younger I wondered what my dad was doing in there for hours. Now I know he was avoiding his family for as long as possible

Cole led until about January. MDG from jan to early April and McAtee only for the last couple of weeks. Unlike the team he peaked at the right time.

Just a thought on a rule change, Jimmy - same idea as the last one you did for me ...goalkeepers' union job, inspired by the legend that is Heinz Muller :D

How come a striker gets 5pts for scoring a hat trick (aka 'doing their job well) but a keeper gets sweet FA for saving a penalty ?:)

Keeper gets 2pts for a shutout so perhaps another 2pts for a penalty save.

Think Heinz was probably the last keeper to save a pen… but yeah 5 bonus points seems fair.

Sounds good, ta Jimmy - a JV discretionary additional bonus for something like the PNE save would also be fair game :D
