Does it really matter, someone walking up and down a few steps. We've much much bigger things to concentrate on.
Yeah they do. I’m in the Ponte End and sit on end of a row. They do it all the time there too. Not complaining mind…
Doing a job is fine. You've to see how he does it with military precision. So much it distracts somewhat. It's like changing of the guards. Laughable really tbf.
It’s like the pool attendants in Disney. They have to walk a certain route constantly scanning areas by obviously moving their heads. All for the pay masters. As we all know this is not as effective as just being fully aware of areas.
It makes complete sense to me. How are they supposed to spot people with things they shouldn’t have (alcohol, vapes, recording equipment) etc or hear them saying things they shouldn’t be (e.g. racist comments) if they never walk into the stands? Anyone who does any supervision knows that you’re supposed to walk around the areas you are supervising from time to time and not just stand in one place, static. As mentioned above, it’s easier for someone to get their attention and report something rather than having to obviously walk down to the front whilst everyone else is sitting down and watching you go and tell them. At school, kids tell me stuff all the time when I’m on my rounds, they wouldn’t just walk up to my desk in front of everyone to ‘grass’ though. I also spot things myself that I never would if I’d stayed there. It keeps your mind focused too and less likely to become complacent and switched off if you have to keep physically moving from place to place.
