The stairs like there looking for a convict? It’s glaringly obvious that there’s no one stood up…….it was same all last season too
Not seriously, but they do have to do it so many times durng a match according to one of them last season.
I keep expecting them to say; “Any duty free? Drinks or snacks?”. That’s what it reminds me of anyway.
It's for a few reasons. Makes them more likely to witness something or overhear something and makes it easier for fans to report things to stewards
That’s absolute *****……..they don’t do it anywhere else in ground and they can clearly see from gangway that no one’s causing a scene
Where in the ground are you referring to? Last season they did it in all three home stands (no idea about the away end) and theyre the reasons I was given when I asked
I wasn't there tonight so can't speak for that but I'm sure that last season I saw them do it in them all. But anyway yeah they're the reasons they gave for it, it's so they can hear and pick up on things easier and to make it easier for someone to get their attention about a problem. Not saying I particularly agree with it or anything by the way
You could/can set your watch east stand lower gangway 3. Every 10 mins. He'd have a go at those in gangway 4 if they didn't follow his every move. Proper military style. Pmsl at how regimented he was/is. A reight distraction for what. ? Mass brawl in the stand. ?. I've been there since it opened, not so much as a barney. Couple of verbals maybe. Handbags at dawn at worst.
I'm bemused. Somebody doing the job they're paid to do. The audacity of it. Maybe if they'd done their job so efficiently as a given we wouldn't notice it when they did.
Up until 2 year ago they stood on the gangway like 99.9% of other stewards do at games…….now we have right said Fred doing a synchronised march…..that’s what’s bemusing
They do it near us in the Ponte. Think they're checking for people who have snuck a crafty beer back to their seat, or who have cans, which are prohibited.
