Explains alot. Is there anyone on the board that will remotely even criticise anything the current owners do? It seems the personnel selected have been very 'carefully' chosen by the club.
My personal thoughts are it's a load of tosh but I'm prepared to give it a chance to work. From the outside looking in, it doesn't seem like a very diverse set up. Certainly nobody on there that will hold the club to account. On a serious note, what is the difference between this and the Supporters Trust?
The only change I'd suggest to it and I'm not even sure if this is a change really, is that it should be in the groups agreed terms and agreements that nobody on the panel can be removed by the club for going against them or dissenting, only other supporters can vote for their removal. That may very well already be the situation to be fair. I just like the idea that those on the board/panel can say anything they want and disagree as much as they want without worrying about losing their position or privileges at all. Also just to clarify, I don't think the club would actually remove anyone for dissenting anyway. I don't think the club have handpicked people for any reason you suggest. I think it's simply that those who feel closer to the club or the board are more likely to volunteer to help them. That's just life and it's nothing bad about any of them at all
This ^^^^^^^. ....and for further clarification ST, you're right. The Club didn't handpick anyone into the Group.
The club haven't picked anyone. The committee was selected by the supporters who turned up to the preliminary meetings and who put themselves forward for election among that group.
Guilty as charged. If anyone has an issue they want to raise within this remit, feel free to DM me on here, pending the official channels of communication being set up, for which we're reliant on the club.
No anyone could be part of the process. Those on the board were elected on by the people involved in the process after detailing what they would bring to the board for the particular areas. Any fan could be involved and nominate themselves and vote for who represented each of the positions. There is a full terms of reference about how the board acts, how long people can be on the board (it is time limited for instance). I’ve seen a few on social media talking about people the club have selected. Nothing could be further from the truth!
I don’t think there is anything in the terms of reference that allows that to happen (would have to double check). No one was handpicked by the cub though. As already mentioned, elections took place for the places on the board. Full minutes of meetings will be published in due course as well as way’s to feed into the board and how we will disseminate information and points raised by the fans.
I don't remember a beer crate being involved, but I do remember standing on my tiptoes at the front of the West Stand (to the left of the tunnel, looking from the field), and trying to recognize players by their socks and ankles. My dad was behind me, halfway up the stand with his mates. He knew people on the gate, so I was always lifted over the turnstiles.
You could say that I'm not living locally, but I suppose most of my issues would be around iFollow (still awaiting the follow-up email they promised on 03/06 about signing up for the new season), and SYP moving games to midday, so I have to be up at 4:00 PST to watch.
