    He said he’s not taking that port vale lad with him so I doubt they will take any trialists we can’t afford to pay for extra rooms

    Quite a few players and staff around on the site. Passed Darrell Clarke - wished him and the lads good luck for the season and welcome to Barnsley. Think most of the training is at the University Stadium and behind closed doors. No new faces I can identify apart from Matthew Craig.

    Interesting. I can't see us changing the default formation, but giving yourself the personnel to be able to switch things around if necessary, even if only to shake up a game, can't be a bad thing.

    What about the massive black hole in our wage bill? They’ve already put around £10m in to keep us as competitive as possible. Where would this money come from? Maybe if they increased season ticket prices by 50%, there would be more money to play with?

    Another fantastic interview from Clarke on radio Sheffield today.

    Every time I see or hear a Clarke interview I'm more positive about him.

    Not wanted a manager to succeed as much as him since Hecky. I just love the way he talks, his personality and his ethos.
