I don't agree lower mid table but do respect your opinion and if I am wrong and we don't bring a few in and are not pushing top end of the league then I will have a rethink of how I am viewing our squad. On the other hand if we are up there some people on here and other social media platforms should have a think about their reactions and comments as they are totally OTT and not really acceptable.
Clarke has done well with squads that are no where near what he has now. I bet he can't wait to get going.
I've no idea how well the manager will do with those players but based purely on the players alone and how they performed last season as individuals that team looks like lower mid table, 13th or 14th and the worrying thing is that's knot even likely to be the starting 11 for most games with hourihane saying he will be a bit part player. But as I've said I don't know how well the manager will do with them, we've seen managers before get a team to over perform and had them under perform too so a lot will come down to his abilities as well as the players.
£1 million hasn't been a lot of money in football transfer fee terms for even longer than 15 years, I would say, though fees in the Premier League have increased by a far bigger multiple than in Leagues One and Two. Arsenal paid over £100 million for Declan Rice, and I thought he was very poor in the Euros. Based on his record last season, I don't think £1 million for the Mansfield lad looks like too much. Actually, I would have expected some Championship clubs to be interested in him, in which case our interest would probably be merely academic. You might also ask why the said player would be particularly keen on moving anyway to a club in the same division. Also, it's hard to believe that Mansfield really want to sell him. I would have been very surprised, if they had accepted a paltry £500k offer.
Yep coz we don't know for definite what will happen if I jump off the town hall, I could fly, although all logic would tell ya otherwise. We're owned by idiots and have a shocking structure in place.
I'm not telling anyone they are wrong because the same as everyone else I do not know what's going to happen. If the club are going to be criticised to the extent they are for not splashing out on big signings with money we haven't got then yes there are other clubs that do that so maybe following one of those would make them happier. I think we have already hot a decent top end league 1 squad without being millions in debt.
I don't want to think this of the owners of my Club, but I have to agree with you. How many times over their tenure have they peed the fan base off? Whether it's late kits releases to poor communication to poor transfer windows to shutting the West Stand to playing ineligible players. Every single season, without fail, there's been at least 3 or 4 occasions where the board have shown themselves to be unfit for the role they hold. I want them to succeed, desperately I do! But they keep letting us down time and time again.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think we will finish 14th or anything, I just mean that squad as it is now but I don't for one second think that's the squad we will have when the window shuts.
Unless you are wrong and we do well next season then may be they are not idiots and doing what they can trying to do it the right way.
Me neither that's why I'm not having a meltdown like some and I do care about us being successful as much as anyone else. I think I can call out unreasonable posts and how I see it may be wrong but atleast I'm not all doom and gloom.
Tbf I'm not so sure it's a weak argument. Since we went into administration. I'm not aware of any sugar daddies willing to take us on, and throw millions at us. (Only to keep afloat) . Patrick Cryne took us on reluctantly as no bugger else would, after Peter Doyle took us out of administration. Patrick then would listen to offers forthcoming. None did for years to the best of my knowledge. I do believe his health pushed him into accepting the lee/conway offer. Look how that one turned out. All these rumours about a consortium wanting to take over a couple of years or so ago, were imo just that. And created a bit of a stir among the fanbase on sites like this. Who are these prospective owners we'd attract in a heartbeat. ?. .
I have said it for years, PC had the club up for sale in the same way that my house is for sale if someone offers me 10 million quid for it but you won't find it actually listed for sale anywhere
You wouldn't put up with being near bottom of table, truthfully would ya,it spoils my weekend when we lose
Fabio Jalo will be 19 a few months into season, Vimal 19 just after Christmas. They really need to have some proper playing time imo mate. I get the arguments for squad depth but I really want them playing games, especially those 2, so maybe a loan spell will do them good if not regulars here
That's why I dont go much now,no ambition even Chaplin more or less said it,its soul destroying, let's hope new manager is a good un if he his he'll find ways to win, then he'll be gone for half a mill, conner will then take over and if he does well he'll be gone aswell,am in a negative mood this morning, sorry to all positive people.
They need to start playing for us. They have been an outstandingly good youth team so give them the opportunity to step up. They are ones of our own. We are also a team that has to learn to defend again after a season where we were allowed to forget under Collins.
