As much as I despise Nigel Farage and everything he stands for, this isn't helping. He's like a Sith Lord. Every time someone strikes him, he just grows stronger.
attacked was a bit strong looked like someone on a lunch break from Barnsley college lobbing a dairylea triangle after having a particular hard morning studying x
Whatever people's views on the bloke, this is completely unacceptable. It would be if it was Starmer they were attacking or Sunak, or Corbyn, or Farage. We have already had 2 MPs die in recent years and this is leading us down a very dark alley where people think it is acceptable to physically abuse people whose views they don't agree with. If you don't like him and his views, don't listen to him and don't vote for him. Put your X against someone else. But don't attack him. We have a thing called free speech in this country that many people have died to protect. The guy needs prison time. Before someone takes the stakes to the next level and we have another death.
It's playing completely into his hands. It's giving him more air time than ever, and people will feel he's being unfairly treated. All this is doing is martyring him.
Cant be doing that to people on election campaign. Red light for anyone to attack Sunak, Starmer, Davey.....etc etc. The assailant needs fining. Got to hand it to Farage though much as I dislike the guy, He knows which areas to pick to enhance his image and to play on peoples' fears. Gets the media attention again!! Will play to his gallery no doubt..
Indeed, we do, unfortunately some use it to promote the very things that they fought against. I’m not condoning this or other attacks on anyone, but understand the level of ill-feelings that Farage and his ilk generate. He loves it
As much as I hate Farage and consider that it would have been of considerable benefit to thr country if he had died in that plane crash in 2010, violence against a politician is never justified regardless of where they sit on the political spectrum. In addition to the morality/criminal aspect it just adds fuel to the fire he's trying to stoke. The bloke chucking stones needs to be arrested and charged.
But there's ill feeling towards every party. On here the hate for the Tories is massive. I have plenty on my socials who despise the Labour Party and the left. People are entitled to those views but we can't go round throwing objects or assaulting people.
I know, I already said I don’t condone it, but I do understand the level of Ill-feeling. Occasionally I’ve felt like smacking folk in the mouth, but I haven’t because it’s wrong to do so,
Over the years there’s been loads of stuff chucked at politicians, all this faux umbrage for a minor incident is ridiculous
Remember everyone laughing when Prescott was covered in ale by one of the Chumbwamba band. Then there was that thug who egged him and started fighting back
Yeah it's not a great look to lower yourself to his level by attacking him. Boo by all means and tell him you don't want him here, but I don't agree with throwing things at people.
