Yes I get that often too. It's got to the point I'm considering unsubscribing but then I don't want to miss anything that's actually important.
I'm fortunate, I can get by without having to but I do really dislike that the club don't give 2 clear paydays. Hopefully it's something they can look at for next year even if it's just announcing the early bird price a couple of weeks earlier to ensure the two paydays.
That was a bug that was meant to have been fixed recently. I won't bore you with the detail. I think there's an element of truth in your earlier point. We have gone heavy on marketing emails this year. But it came off the back of suggestions at various meetings with supporters where that mode of comms was criticised. About balance I guess.
For balance, I understood the email and the pricing structure: 'Early Bird New' refers to a season ticket purchased within the early bird period for customers who don't have a season ticket this year and the lowest price in the email applies to a season ticket available to all customers. Some people (those who are accompanying a juvenile) can purchase an even cheaper ticket in a specific area of the ground, but as that's not available to all, that wasn't given as the lowest price given as the club could be accused of deceiving people. Better to give the lowest available to anyone.
I'm not sure what preferences and things we get to choose when opting in or out of emails from the club but I know some companies I get emails from when I've unsubscribed it's given me about 10 different options to tick which I want, ticket news, club statements, fixture news, team news etc. maybe that's something the club could look at and people could pick and choose which they want to be included on. Not sure if that's doable with the software or system you use though.
I might be wrong here, but I believe there was a delay in getting finance options delivered otherwise it'd have gone earlier. I know that the assets and copy were good to go a couple of weeks prior to eventual release. Lots of moving parts I guess. It's like these play-offs, again. One minute you're set to speak to the guys at Peterborough about tickets and dates and what not. A minute later it's Bolton (again). Then the days and KO time are different from previous comms. Then you've meetings ahead with the three other clubs regards Wembley plans and all that jazz. At least we've recent experience and a great ticketing team in place.
Out of interest when did you personally actually find out for sure when the date and time for the play off was? Absolutely nothing behind that question other than a curiosity about how long you were confused for too
I initially thought if finishing 5th/6th we'd play Saturday/Tuesday at 8pm. Even had it up on our whiteboard. Found out before KO it could be Friday. Then confirmed post-match it was Friday at 7.30pm. You have to remember though, I'm running around doing this, that and the other. So long as the correct detail goes out, happy days. I'm personally happier with a Friday night. Means I can have a rare weekend doing summat non-work.
Oh yeah I wasn't criticising you for not knowing. It's the EFL who on this occasion I think have absolutely ballsed up the communication. Even after full time they were still saying Saturday on their site
There are loads in family stand that don’t have kids with em BTW. I guess it’s a legacy thing, but there’s loads.
