It does influence it. Israel knows that it has the west's backing and acts accordingly. So the attitude of our government does directly influence Israel's policy.
they did ( they have also done similar before) but my point was that Hammas knew what would happen when they attacked ( bringing destruction on their own people), that gave all the other war mongering governments to do what they have done , leading to death and heartbreak for the poor Palestinians who just can’t get out of the way. Each retaliation is just getting bigger and more involved.
Yeah I get that but I think the margins in a small number of states are so tight that the Jewish vote can be the difference.
No, Israel knew Hamas would attack them because they've been illegally occupying Palestinian land for over 60 years. Why not start there?
Ahh sorry, that make what they did and the ensuing deaths they brought down on their own people reyt then!!
We’re going to send them a laser that shoots that **** right out of the sky - endless ammo as well if you’ve got a European adaptor for the plug.
Did Russia bring about the deaths of Russian citizens (via Ukrainian drones and missiles) by illegally occupying Ukrainian land?
Err yes they did !! That kind of thing tends to happen when you declare war on a different country, totally different to the Hammas thing.
Definitely. Plenty of Russian citizens or dual nationals live in Ukraine, especially the eastern areas. Plus the thousands who've been sent to fight in a completely pointless conflict, and the poor folk in the Belgorod area who are being hit by retaliatory Ukrainian strikes on Russian infrastructure.
No it's not different, it actually is worse. Israel invaded and has Palestinian land and has imparted apartheid and turned Gaza into a concentration camp even before this latest episode. But you ignore that because it doesn't suit the story you repeat to yourself in your head.
Quite. Russia invaded and occupied land that wasn't theirs and this led to the killing of Russians in Russia. Israel has taken and occupied land that isn't theirs and led to the killing of Israelis in Israel. The failure to deal with a right wing, land grabbing, fascist Israeli government and it's 60 year occupation of Palestinian land has brought this about.
major irony alert !! you’re that blinkered and biased in your opinions it’s a total waste of fking time even trying ! So that’s it for me!
I don't want to be argumentative so believe me this is a genuine question/point but Israel did impart apartheid and were committing war crimes against Palestinians in Gaza weren't they? I thought that was a fact
fair enough, but none of that was involved in the initial debate, more that Hammas must have known what would be the result of their kidnappings and must share responsibility for the suffering of their own people. It wasn’t an attempt at freedom just aggravating the situation.Yes the level of the Israeli response was beyond the pale but it was predictable.
not even going there ,with your political views it would be a total waste of time.So not even going to try
Unfortunately for us in Britain, I think our voice will be little heard by either the Jewish or Palestinian sides, because we just about single-handedly created the whole situation back in 1948 when we created a home for the Jews in Palestine. The troubles have just rolled on and on ever since and I can't see them stopping anytime soon. It's a difficult and complex issue that I can't get my bonce around. https://www.theguardian.com/books/2...ian.com/books/2001/may/31/londonreviewofbooks
