Nothing new for this lot. End of last season my daughter went into box office to pick her Bolton tickets up before the second leg of the playoff semi final and they refused to give her them. As the woman in the box office said these can't be yours. You are obviously not a female your male. Put 15 complaints in got absolutely nothing back. We renewed our season tickets only been to about half of the games sick season ticket where the sun dosn't shine we are both done
Without seeing the clothes we have no idea if they were inappropriate or not. My first thought was that it’d be a very weird thing for someone to say if her clothes were always suitable for work but then I have seen videos of other women being told their clothes are inappropriate when they are completely fine so who knows? Same with the footballers saying nice things about her. No one is saying she didn’t work hard or wasn’t friendly, the comment was that she was perhaps too friendly with them, but there haven’t been any complaints that we know of from any of the staff she apparently flirted with so maybe they saw nothing wrong with how she spoke to them. Basically, we haven’t a clue. What is bad though is that her complaint wasn’t treated with privacy and the rest of the club found out. That’s absolutely not on.
Our club is an embarrassment at times. Absolutely shocking. I sincerely hope Ellie was properly compensated.
Can't believe how upset people are getting. It's a really lazy and poor piece of journalism in my opinion. Other than the allegations against Jean, there's nothing in that article we didn't already know.
It was bad that the club used the F.A Cup exit as a cover up for blatant sexism. It's abhorant I hope she takes action.
I honestly can see us getting a point deduction at the end of this season with the amount of instability at the club. Hopefully we finish well into the play offs.
I’m confused about all the blatant sexism talk. For all we know she was wearing inappropriate clothing and flirting with the players. Alternatively, for all we know Jean made it up out of nowhere for no reason. In other words, we haven’t a clue so how can it possibly be blatant? I’m also not sure how telling someone they are inappropriately dressed and speaking unprofessionally in the workplace is sexism if it was actually true. I have no idea whether it was or wasn’t but the headline definitely wants us to think a certain way and has led people to form definitive conclusions based on not much information.
Yeah and they can take their tin pots with them. The clean slate was needed when Conway & co were ousted. But in fairness I don't think there's exactly a long list of people who are willing to take over, and show some ambition (there's that naughty swear word 'ambition' again).
In the absence of a company policy its in essence a subjective opinion to which one of, if not the most powerful member of the board shouldve kept to herself. If there's a policy and she breached it I doubt there'd be a need for the CEO to mediate a conversation between that employee and said board member. Either or, those coupled with the lack of confidentiality is bang out and points to a culture of toxicity.
I didn’t know that our professionally qualified, well regarded legal brain of a club Secretary had been so ill treated; that she’d been forced out of the club. I didn’t even know she’d left the club. I didn’t know there had been an allegation of bullying against a director, which led to an acknowledged admission and an apology. I didn’t know she was away from the club when the Horsham debacle occurred. That but doesn’t surprise me. When even current players are speaking out for her on Twitter, not just former ones with an axe to grind (albeit probably justifiably), then you know something is amiss. Ellie Dobson is legally qualified and was all over the legalities and details of the contractual stuff. Who’s doing that now?
