I’ve got free Prime through Vodafone so I thought I would cheer myself up after that dross at Blackpool. Wow - what a game! It’s no time at all since we were the equal of and often better than Luton but look at them now.
Jacob Brown Carlton Morris Jordan Clark All on the pitch. Shame Mads isn’t there as well. Is he injured? Not seen him for ages
To think Luton are holding their own against the top of the premier league and we lost against Blackpool’s mid week team. The last four years has seen very different trajectories for the two clubs.
Luton have recruited to fit a style of play and improve the team. We’ve recruited based on age and whether we can make a profit on the player.
It's not even the last 4 years really. We finished above them in 2020/21 in the Championship. We then went in the opposite direction because one club showed ambition beyond solely selling players to make a profit, and it wasn't ours. 2.5 years after the final day of the 2021 season and they're 2 divisions above us.
Tb f I had the feeling it would happen, Luton were holding on. Can't see Arsenal winning the league though!
Knew that was coming. Ref giving them every soft foul going. He actually gave a foul for a tug when he had just given a foul against Luton for the arsenal player not being strong enough to stop the attacker getting past him and tried to claim he got pulled back.
Arsenal was always going to nick that, they always seem to do. Did against Brentford a few week ago as well. It's Arteta time now instead of fergie time! Although I will say, they also got plenty of late goals last season and still didn't manage to win the league! Massive result that. Absolutely gutted for Luton
Just seen this thead apologies for the double post, harsh on Luton still swap places with them any day of the week
Horrible bloke sometimes, albeit it I think he's a good manager. The audacity of Arsenal fans rating him above Klopp after last season is laughable though. I'd suggest at current Emery is 3rd after Pep & Klopp after the amount he's won and the incredible job he's currently doing at Villa. Then there's an argument for him after that, possibly, but Poch, De Zerbi & especially Howe would probably have something to say about that.
It was a brilliant goal at the end. The patience they showed to get set up properly with seconds left was very impressive, then the ball in from Odegaard was stunning. Great header to finish it off. Gutted for Luton but it was a world class goal to see them off.
