    The Pipes of Peace?
    Obla Di - Obla Da
    Mull of Kintyre
We All Stand Together (the Frog Song)
    When I'm Sixty Four.

There is more to go at.

Not an anti Macca thread btw, he just lacks a filter for me...

The Frog Song is absolutely terrible. I know I'm in a minority but I quite like Obla-di Obla-da.

I don't disagree with the sentiment, but it's still rubbish...

So do I, although I much prefer the cover by Marmalade.

It sounds as though it could have been written by Father Ted as a B side to My Little Horse.

There are much worse songs than Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da and When I’m Sixty Four. Maxwell’s Silver Hammer for starters. And whilst his 70s catalogue contain some of the best songs ever recorded and one of the greatest albums ever recorded, there’s also an incredible amount of dross. His biggest problem is, he’s Paul McCartney, and since Lennon there is nobody that can say no to him who he would actually listen to.

But despite all this, I think he’s an incredibly underrated songwriter, singer and musician. So let’s celebrate how great he is instead. You can’t say the words Brian and Wilson, without someone saying genius, but Wilson is miles behind McCartney.

McCartney's bass playing is the best kept secret in The Beatles. Some of his bass lines are like a totally different song within a song. Absolutely brilliant. And what a voice. Lennon is seen as the rocker of the band, but who belts out those Little Richard covers? And who sings Helter Skelter?

Without Paul the Beatles would have fallen apart as soon as Brian Epstein died. Yes, he is prone to the schmaltz and the twee, and he could be a bossy boots, but, come on, Golden Slumbers, eh?The man’s a genius. There, I’ve said it.

Full disclosure: Lennon’s still my favourite Beatle and always will be, but Paul has always been in his shadow, and shouldn’t be.

It's just so twee and contrived... "I want to write a song about black and white living together nicely. .. Ooh look, there's my piano keyboard. How convenient."

It would have been a much more interesting song if he'd gone with a different example. A zebra crossing or a Newcastle Utd shirt or the flag of Cornwall.

It's got to be The Frog Chorus.
He's done some crap since the Beatles but that's on a different level.

I don't get the hate for We All Stand Together. It was written for children to be used in a cartoon about Rupert the Bear. I don't particularly like it either but I wouldn't list it as the worst McCartney song any more than I think The Hungry Caterpillar is the worst novel and Bod is the worst TV Drama.

Paul Mccartney is up there with Cliff Richard as darlings of the music industry and the public. I think he's done some dross but then again who hasn't? Just listened to All Things Must Pass by George Harrison and thought it was brilliant but I've heard folk saying it was total s h it e. Each to their own.

I like the Frog Song btw :).

He had a song out a couple of years ago when he was 80, called “Come on to me”.
Aside from the fact his voice has gone and it sounded terrible, the lyrics were very questionable for an 80 yr old man to be singing. Needless to say it got loads of air time on Radio 2.
