I sense hes not the most popular player with some on here but I thought he had a very decent game on Tuesday. Before anybody says "it was only Wycombe"for me he did a job on what he had to do.He won his headers,he surged forward whenever he could even overlapping the wingback and putting some good balls into the box.The cream on his cake was the superb challange which prevented Wycombe scoring and going in front. If a player can be verbally attacked he can also take some praise when deserved.
I've never fully understood the criticism and I have said a couple of times recently he has done well. Fair play to the lad. I bet not many teams have had a McCann and a McCart
If Conor McCarthy breaks his way back into the first team, we'll have McCart, McAtee & McCarthy playing lol. Just need Big Mick to get DoF job now...
He had a very solid game. Wycombe didn't have much of a sight of goal, and that to me was down to how organised we were for the most part at the back, McCart and De Gevigney in particular.
This is pleasing to hear, with Lopata almost back from injury lets hope we can get a settled back line, with Williams back in at RWB.
He’s a solid Div one defender with a decent left foot but probably lacks a bit of pace basically we were spoilt last season.
I have to admit I wasn't a fan but the last three games he's played well , take the shackles off and let him go forward more
Seems like a decent player to me. Never had a problem with him. Is he outstanding? No. Is he steady away and gives us 7 out of 10s every time he enters the pitch? Yes, he very much does.
I agree that he was ok on Tuesday. And I think his performances have been better in recent games - Derby excluded when I thought he was bullied throughout (as were Mael and Williams). But that's faint praise, I think we we need much better than ok. We need commanding, and strength, and leadership.
I think he has improved, but we don't have any centre back to compare with last season's or to Helik, who was a commanding aerial presence.
