It will genuinely stay with their fans forever, the same way ours do. The Chelsea/Liverpool run especially for me. Special times for them. We need to ruin it for them in the reverse fixture but they've experienced it and they'll cherish it I should imagine, as would I. The feeling of pride is immense when something like that happens. I felt similar pride losing to the Massives with 10 men at wembley after how good our performance was.
Other than getting to the first round of the cup, they’ve taken the lead at a team Christ knows how many leagues above them, scored a late equaliser and are in the bag for the 2nd round!! Instead of all the knob jockeys going mental how’s about looking at it from a football fan’s perspective?? Fair play to them, I hope it’s on the tele and they get as much money as possible for it, clubs of Horsham’s stature are what real football is about for me, give me an away day there over a **** trip to somewhere like reading
At least we get chance to decide whether to field a decent team in the replay. If it's Batley Blind School at home we've got no chance.
Could have won that 7 - 3 if not for the keeper, but that`s what he`s there for.We will win the replay easy.
I remember when possibly my favourite ever Barnsley side failed to beat Enfield at home and more than 8000 of us made the trip down to White Hart Lane for the replay on a school night. It doesn’t mean we’re **** all of a sudden.
I don't think people realise just how low down the pyramid they are, I would say this is nothing like us against Chelsea/Liverpool.
I remember that one. Was a brilliant night in London but what a journey back. I think the train we were on must have been shunted into every side line there is between here and north London
Dont think anyone here has compared them. Only the feeling from the fans point of view mate. They will literally remember it for rest of their lives, as will we when we knocked out Chelsea and Liverpool. There's 4 tiers between us. Disgraceful result for us but incredible for them - but we will smash em in replay
They wanted it more, it's as simple as that. Did we underestimate them? Yes. The game should have been put to bed shortly after we got the opening goal. A nice early opener to settle the nerves. It was the simplest of goals for us to score and showed the difference in level. Instead, we got too complacent. Korey O'Keeffe tried a nonchalant looped pass to Williams (I think) which he understandably struggled to control, because it was an abysmal pass. He'd have been bollocked for it in training, never mind in a game. But to me it set a president that we thought we could turn up and that would be enough. Scoring from that gave them the confidence that they could cause an upset. Then of course we gave a penalty away. That's nothing to do with playing a non league opposition, that's just what we do. Was it soft? I didn't think so at the time. I would have been upset had it not been given for us. Then of course, we had to come from behind. We don't like doing that. We don't like having to try and break down a team that sits behind the ball. Neill is going to have to figure out how to play teams like that, and fast. We managed it last night, but we were playing a team from the 7th tier. Their 3rd was a hopeful put down field. On first viewing, their attacker looked in a different postcode. I'm going to chalk that one down to bad officiating. But we still should have done better to thwart the cross into the box. They had pace going forward, so much so that even Williams struggled. When Williams gets out paced, you know you're in trouble, because that's his biggest asset. It was a bad night at the office, and it's another game now in what I'll be a congested run up to Christmas. It happens. We're 5th in the league on merit, and a cup tie against a team who are playing in the biggest game of their lives doesn't change that. We need to go to their stadium now though, and take the game by the scruff of the neck, and get the job done early. A 2 goal lead for us and there's no coming back.
Mentioned on another thread, one if not the best BFC side I watched ,nearly dumped out of the cup by little Enfield. We didn't turn on Hunter like on here with Collins.
To be fair nobody had a mobile phone let alone the internet , I’m sure in the corner of Swaithe WMC there was someone slagging Hunter off
Last night just added to my confusion I get it was a changed side but it had more than enough you would have thought to see off Horsham. Has anybody got a definite view on what we will achieve this season the only thing I'm certain of is we will finish in the top 10 as there's some proper rubbish in this league.
Sutton beat then division one Coventry and non league Luton beat premier league Norwich - both were similar gaps. At the time, Coventry were 5th in the entire pyramid - on the back of a 5-0 victory over our friends from S6. So on occasion, even bigger upsets happen. It’s not great, but you have to give credit to our opponents.
Probably, it's the same with everything, Cricket , Win a game it's brilliant, lose sack the gaffer. Some folk eh . 100% Don't know what all the fuss was
Correct,it`s what is still great about the FA Cup.Anybody can beat anybody in the early rounds,& lets not forget we havent lost,we`ve drawn.
Thursday on here , I posted 11 v 11 league positions out of the window in a cup game. I was thinking I was on the massives board listening to some comments. Team like Horesham. How many times have we quoted that. And we're doing it on here.
