Seen this thrown at Collins a lot as an insult in the last couple of weeks. What exactly is wrong with learning on the job? Do you think any other previous manager wasn’t learning on the job?

Have we no patience whatsoever with managers? Can we not afford them time and understanding? Collins is clearly a talented young coach but is making mistakes along the way. What’s the rush? Give him time. Look where we are in the league after the overhaul in defence in the summer. Things are pretty good.

Fortunately, for now at least, it seems that by and large the only ones really slagging him off are the usual braindeads.

The problem is, the more he learns, the worse we get.

I can see no evidence of any learning. We are getting worse.

He’s out of his depth, setting on an unknown from Soccer was a big risk, could have worked but hasn’t! You could argue we are top 6 but means nowt

The issue is we don’t seem to be progressing or learning. Some players with talent seem to be regressing and playing much worse. Our approach play is ponderous and one dimensional and we do not have the ability to changed shape or pattern when the plan isn’t working.

I’m nowhere near the sack him people but we have to significantly improve on the next 8 weeks or the calls will get louder.

It’s his style of play I’ve got a problem with. All this sideways and backwards passing in triangles in our own half that ends in a ball out to a wing back. It’s that slow that by the time we get the ball in the box the opposition have everything covered and inevitably clear the ball. It’s turgid and boring. Last season under Duff we got the ball forwards far quicker. Collins has to have a plan B or it’s going to be a long season at Oakwell. Teams are turning up knowing they can get something if they keep their shape and catch us on the break.

Agree with the comments we have progressed 0 since the beginning of the season. Why do we go for a manager who has to learn on the job. Surely the money we brought in the summer in which we havw spend hardly any of it would pay for a better manager.

Hes got more knowledge of the game than this entire board x100.000 and the rest.
We;re doing better than this stage last season and a large part of the season to come.If you expect us to win every game you're in for a shock.
