Brilliant post. I follow Lex's podcasts, a very intelligent & well researched poster. It's great to see some ordinary people talking, amongst the madness that is going on. It's sad Obama made little progress on this. No one since, Trump or Biden have tried to grasp the nettle.
No doubt there'll be some hippies in britstol waving rainbow flags and free palestine banners (where gay people get the death penalty)
Gaza and the Palestinian people will now be pummelled until the US tells Israel to stop. It's truly a zero sum game for the Palestinians because no country of note is prepared to stand up for them politically, and killing Israelis inevitably brings the wrath of the Israeli state many times over. What a mess for all the decent people caught in between.
Bombing a civilian hospital and cutting power/water to a civilian hospital are both war crimes. Killing innocent civilians is a terrorist act. Both Hamas and the Israeli leadership have innocent blood on their hands. A Christian church in Gaza was also destroyed today apparently.
It’s just utterly senseless all round. Netanyahu today been quoted as saying “the retaliation has only just begun”.
Are you saying that if you think a state's views on minorities are horrendous then you should support large scale oppression of that state and all its citizens? There's no irony at all if you exercise a second's thought.
no mansfield red its just that if your talking purely about LGBT rights tel aviv has gay pride every year while palestinians kill gay people by law of the land so waving the rainbow flag and palestine together is a bit daft
WTAF has whether gay people support Palestine got to do with what's going on? Unless it's an opportunity to have a sly dig at both LGBTQ AND Moslems at the same time.
You can support a state's right to exist whilst strongly disagreeing with its policies. Only an idiot would think otherwise.
im talking about young people in the uk waving gay rights and palestine things together and merely pointing out there is massive irony there
of course there are gay muslims sadly in islamic states like 'palestine' they are heavily oppressed every religion and people has good and bad- but the lgbt record in islam is undeniably appauling
Isn't the irony obvious lgbt rights flag and the flag of a 'country' that has a death penalty in place for lgbt
I think personally for anyone who is part of the LGBT community to also show their support to Palestine is very brave and willing to look past their own persecution, because they see people in Gaza, they see the inhumane way they're treated and they know its wrong. Nevertheless the only true victims here are the civilians on both sides who have been/will be slaughtered by Hamas/IDF.
