It was noticeable yesterday that we’ve got giants all over the pitch when, over the many years I’ve been watching the Reds, we’ve often been dwarfed by opposition players. I know that height doesn’t necessarily mean a better player but it’s still good to see us look so imposing. Herbie must be getting a crick in the neck looking up at most of his team mates
David Speedie 5' 7" . Could outjump 6ft+ players so often. Refs would blow for a foul thinking he must have climbed the opposition player. Tbf it's a long time since we had more than a few tall uns.
We should be dangerous at corners with so much height in the box. But we didn’t get a single corner yesterday.
Said same to my dad when the players come over to the stands on Saturday, baring Kane and Williams every player seemed 6ft plus
some of the greatest players in the history of the game have been short. It comes with advantages in certain situations over taller players. It’s one of the great things about football as a universal sport.
Of course. Look at little Barry Bannan. Greatest player South Yorkshire has ever seen. Maybe even the best in the whole known universe, ever…..
