Software consultant. I work for a company that owns a myriad of finance, accountancy and payroll systems and I implement one of the finance systems.
It's over 30 years since last pit closed isn't it, so I'm guessing the majority of ex-miners now will be 60+. Dying breed i suppose.
Similarly I stumbled into it. I'd always done PM side but always had no BA resource available. So ended up doing both. Got poached to where I am now (all BAs and no PM) so ended up setting up PM function. Low and behold the first project didn't have BA resource available. So ended up doing both again. Only this time they liked my BA side, offered me a very decent pay rise and BA full time. Easy to get PMs who can operate not knowing our business, but not BAs. And for the first time I'm extremely happy doing what I do. I guess the BA side was always my strength tbh
Retired but have a small business woodturning and laser engraving. It appeals to my creative side, when I find it.
Worst decision I made was selling my wood lathe and tools when we moved, it gave me 10 years of pleasure,

Will start working on the merger of the two largest Swiss banks next month which will keep me busy for 12 months at least. Used to a be a partner in a niche software vendor until I fell out with my business partner.
Since I retired I work part-time for Titan/Saga Travel as a Tour Manager mainly European rivers + India and Nepal in winter. I wish I had started years ago
