I’ve not seen anything of our game other than the score, I’ve been to twickenham today with the Mrs and the boy - got upgraded seats as the rfu had ballsed up our seats so ended up just above the tunnel, in front of the coaches, with Will Carling sat behind us and Rhys sat next to Tom Kerridge, chatting to him about where he plays for his junior rugby team. Got beat; first loss to Fiji ever. Had to drive there and back because of the rail strikes. Doesn’t matter. Great day. Mrs was after tapping Kerridge up for a free meal. I’m even on the Amazon prime highlights package when the players come out of the tunnel. But anyway, back to the proper sport. Were we any good today, or was it all about the sending off?
I watched it muted in the background, with the Reds on the laptop. First loss for England against Fiji and the All Blacks biggest ever defeat. It's not looking good for my teams, England and Australia (USA didn't make it) for the World Cup. Ireland, as the current World No. 1, France as the hosts, South Africa as the holders and because of their current form, and never dismiss the chances of NZ. At least I'll be in the UK for all of October and the right time zone, for the last 4 weeks of the tournament, so I should see a few games down the pub.
From what I saw yesterday, as disappointing as England were, Fiji will be a big test for Wales in their opening game. Actually ranked above them currently; ninth to Wales’ tenth. You can see why they’re up as high. Decent side.
