The question has to be asked, we knew Mads was leaving so why are we only just giving a debut and having to integrate a new central defender at this point in the season? It's poor and not the fault of the new lad

I wasn't there but I get the impression that we rode our luck a bit, nicked a couple in the first half and Vale basically gave up. Seeming more and more like a total fluke as each game passes

Awful debut for Mael but it can be difficult for a defender. He makes a howler and gives away a penalty. Dallas makes a howler and he misses from a very promising position; frustrating but soon forgotten.

He wasn't much better in many other games.

We played better this half than we did the first half v port vale. Still not very good of course, but we weren’t very good first half that day either. But found ourselves 2-0 up.

No worries though, I’m sure the club media will put a thinly veiled dig at the fans on Twitter about signing a striker at some point again this season.

Watter has been poor this season so far but looking at Dallas you can see why he’s played.

Herbie Kane has looked off colour today.

Mmmm imho Oxford look half a yard quicker and it looks like two teams where one is rebuilding and one has been together longer and more cohesive in thought and movement.
Our defence looks just unorganized...no surprises there as we again try more players with little experience at this level.
Its going to take some time to get this right.

I said in a previous thread, a freak one off result. We might be waiting for Connell to return, but even then we’re still woefully short uptop and with an unsettled defence it’s gonna be a slog.

    Eh? Crazy view.

Michael Sollbauer’s signing saved our season, he was exactly what we needed. In fact we could do with similar at the back now.

I thought the corner flags were fluttering impressively.

The only other thing I got from the first half was Cotter & Kane standing over a free kick. Reminded me of my old pal Mark Ellis & the Go-Betweens. The Aussies lost their third place play off in Brizzie today too. Any way Cattle & Cane vs Cotter & Kane.

He was probably a decent person to have in the squad. As a defender - meh!

Isn't it due to the fact that we only signed him a few days before the season started? Surely better to sign the players we've identified even if it takes a bit longer, than bring in our second or third choice, just because we can get the seal over the line quickly? I agree it would have been much better if he'd had a full pre-season with the squad, but things rarely pan out in an absolute ideal fashion.

We as a club don't seem to be proactive enough. And things like this go to prove it.

They knew mads was going and it took over a month from the day mads was announced as leaving to us then announcing MDG. The day before the new season started.

Talk about not giving him chance to settle etc. New league, new country, new team mates replacing best CB in league and signed day before season started.

I said before the start of the season I worry a lot for this side and fear we’ll be closer to the bottom of the league than the top.

The last 4 performances haven’t changed my mind. We got very lucky against PV. The first half they were the better side. It’s concerning.

Ronnie looked **** on his debut, but didn't try lamping everyone. I'm hoping it was a one off, but there is no way he is replacing Andersen or Thomas.

Well, without their 10 million-ish investment over the past couple of seasons, we wouldn't have a club, so there's that.

It's not good on the pitch at the moment, but at least we're not in admin.
