The Independant disciplinary commission found them guilty of failing to pay wages on time and in full 3 times last year. They were ‘hit’ with a £10K fine(owner specific) and a whole 1 point deduction and any repeat this year would incur another 3. The EFL said “it remained extremely frustrated at consistent failures” to follow rules and felt the punishment was some way short of their guidelines. For context this is the 3rd time in 2 years Reading have had points deduction for rule breaches. Begs the question if the punishments are deterrents as it doesn’t seem enough.
Don’t worry there’s a certain case soon coming up that they can show the world that they are not soft and will really make an example of the ‘offenders’
If there’s any footballing justice then we will pip them to second place or the last play off spot on goal difference.
I know no ones a fan of Wigan's behaviour, quite rightly, but is what they've done 8x worse than Reading?
