Indeed very good news for him - was such a shame about his injury. Hopefully hes fully past it and goes on to have a great career
Good line up, but I think I’d have even rested Kane. Tonight’s a free hit. A chance to give the kids some experience. Most of these kids will be in the first team at some point this season
That's why I said 'strong(ish)'. Nine of the starting XI were involved at the weekend. What's not 'strong(ish)' about that?
Yeah exactly, if we're going to take part in this disappointing cup, we should be looking to win and keep the momentum going. But I can understand that the next league game is looked at as the priority.
I said on Saturday I wanted a much changed team and would accept any result. A cup run is always nice but we have too many missing for one reason or another to prioritise it. If we go on to lose, and just because we are one down there’s nothing much to say we will, then so be it. I’d have liked to see the lad James play tonight, though I don’t suppose Lopata needed a rest.
There are 7 changes from the starting line-up on Saturday, and the majority of players within the starting squad have never started a league game for a league one club or higher in their lives. Unsurprisingly they are currently being schooled by a team of fringe no-hopers from league two. I'm not complaining at it or the otutcome, but its a massive stretch to expect that side to get anywhere near a result from this.
The midfield looked decent, Chapman and Russell in particular. Defence poor along with the keeper and two strikers. I'd say yes we sTiLl nEeD A StRiKeR
