the new 'Salford' if you will.

And I get that they beat the might Man U U21s in a pre-season friendly (meaningless ain't they?)

But come on ........ with all the war, poverty, corruption and weather issues in the world at this point in time, is this really a MAIN NEWS HEADLINE?

It's absolutely ridiculous to be honest, but shows they're doing things right for what they want to achieve!

Ricky Fowler ( golfer) got abused at the Open for pulling out of investing in Leeds Utd when they were relegated , it’s a love in at Wrexham at the moment but when things don’t go well and the fans turn the Celebs will be off

They're just a play project for Mcellhenny and Reynolds' the first thing they did when they arrived was to make a documentary out of it' turning it into a bit of a circus imo and when the going gets tough the tough will get going' straight back to tinsel town' but in the meantime our shallow media will keep lapping it up.

I think they are serious about it, it just irritates me the way the media fawn over them making it into some kind of fairy tale revival!
I suppose it is in a way that they were the club that were ‘chosen’, but paying top dollar wages and the lure of meeting top Hollywood celebrities, along with the media circus that attend them gives Wrexham a helluva pull on attracting new talent over other clubs.

Saw something yesterday that said their first home game is sold out for UK nationals but they have some seats left still for "international members". Imagine that - as a local in Wrexham you can't get a seat as they are saving some for international fans. It's mental. Mum of a lad on my sons football team is Canadian and a massive sports fan. She now arranges buses from Leeds for N American expats. Reckon she did 10 home games last season and took 40+ most times. How long does novelty last?

Seen loads of their American “fans” kicking off on social media and wanting a refund because Man Utd played their academy team. Also they were booing the United goalkeeper throughout the second half for injuring Mullin even though the keeper responsible went off at half time

The other way of looking at it is that if you were Reynolds and McIlhenny and you wanted to boost the club and it's finances, exposure the first thing you WOULD do is make a documentary about it.
Having watched it they both seem very genuine and, let's be honest, if you just wanted a plaything you wouldn't pick something thousands of miles away on the other side of the Atlantic.[/QUOTE]

He's always got this to fall back on when times get tough.

    Check out the video: https://www.aviationgin.com/

EDIT: Apparently he sold it to Diageo in 2020 for $610 million, but I won't let that spoil my story.

They may be more interested now, depending on how serious the injury to Mullins is. Naughty MUFC.

Totally agree. They did more in their first week from an exposure point of view than Chien and Conman did for us in months. That's why I'm OK with JAQ, she is kind of putting us out there.

My issue is the media (Sky and Beeb) sickly amount of attention.

Yep. I fully agree. There's zero fairytale element unless you're an actual Wrexham fan for who the "fairytale" was being the club that attracted their attention.
From the rest of football 's point of view they're just another club with rich owners skewing the playing field.
