Nah. A lot of the pre season group will be under 21’s and odd Pizza Cup game. Plus they’ll be getting paid next to bugger all at the minute.
Williams and Styles will both go and that should see us cash covered gor a while. Sign the forest green lad and an experience centre back and we are good to go one better than last season.
Can't see the players brought in been on that much, they are hardly established league 1 players. If they are indeed on big wages then you would have to ask why
We have a smaller squad than last season? How's it a bulging squad? Signed 2 keepers but lost 3 with 2 sold and one loan ending. Lost 2 CBs one end of loan and one sold and only signed one who will most likely be in U23s anyways. And then we've signed two who are purely for u23s. So we are still at least 1 CB down Lost a midfielder in Thomas and signed none. We have got styles back for now but he's surely going. Only area we have equal cover in is up front as we've signed two to put us back to the numbers we had before.
But it's still a player that made 29 appearances last season that we no longer have that's not been replaced. As of right now, the squad is smaller than what we had last season.
I have no doubt we will add more before the end of the season. I was just responding to the OP who was saying he thought we had a bloated squad. Far from it imo. We still need 3 or 4 new additions before the end of the window. I am sure the club will sort what we need.
No concern on that front. Styles and probably Williams will go, hopefully o’keeffe to come in, but the fees we will have brought in compared to the minimal ones spent should cover the wage bill for a bit hopefully.
